Default Locked takes aren't really locked

If you lock to an active take you can still switch takes with T and Shift+T.
When I click "Lock to active take" what I am expecting is "Disable me from accidentally changing this take in any way".

What do you guys think?

This the behavior of "locked" takes gets brought up periodically.

I too want locked to mean "Disable me from accidentally changing this take in any way", but the devs
don't agree it's necessary. One of those things where they feel it's functioning as expected. Locked in Reaper pretty much means "Locked, but don't be surprised if it is changed".

I think the OP means locking the active take, not items. I agree and assume that was added to keep people from accidentally clicking another take when expanded and that no one figured people would hit CTRL+T by mistake. I keep my takes collapsed too and think it should also apply to collapsed takes since I use a lot of key commands.

Right, it's a different place, but I think it's a related philosophy of the way "locked" is implemented across the across the program. That it doesn't mean something is locked in the way we expect, and the command to lock doesn't always affect what want it to affect, or at least it doesn't give us the option to make both the applying of it and its behavior once locked be less Reaper-like and more as some would prefer it to be.

I get that but since it isn't the lock button or items, I felt it made sense to clarify. They fall in the same category to be fixed but need the distinction because I might want active takes locked but NOT items.

You're right. Looking back it was begging for clarification : )
