btw how do you use external gear without it Pipe? Do you have to drag the tracks back in time at all, or do you ignore it?

I had to use the eventide a few times to look for harmonies. I just used the Totalmix thing on the RME to do it. I could arm that tracks loopback in reaper and record in realtime to get it back in as a mix I suppose.

With the plugs I got now, the hardware is becoming more just for front end and just for show

Thanks Pipe, I've got Totalmix with my Fireface 800 so I'll have to look into that, cheers. I've only set it up for mains/headphones so far.
