Default Auto-Repeat of actions

If I bind an action to a key and hit that key: the action is triggered once (as expected). Then if I Hit and HOLD that key, The action is retriggered for as long as I hold the key (as expected)

BUT

If I use a midi note instead of a key it doesn't work the same way. The simple triggering works but if I hold the note, the action is not retriggered. Is this normal?

I suppose yes. Computer keys do feature an auto repeat (via the OS), Midi keys feature a single note-on and a single note-off event.

Many MIDI controllers have a Note Repeat function so instead of sending a single Note On when pressed and held, they will send a Note On/Note Off sequence until the key is released. The Akai MPD218 pad controller is one I know of that has this feature.
