What's the story?

So I tried the 64 Bit Beta on my Mac and lots of bridge icons popped up in my dock and made a little dance. Seems like the programme managed to run, but the sound crackled a bit more than usual, and some things were slow.

I don't know much about bits and bytes. Tried poking around the site for more info, but couldn't find any. Could someone please tell my what the benefit of running REAPER in 64 bit mode is? Or if there is any point to it when I just own OS X 10.5.8 with a humble 2 GHz Core 2 Duo chip and only 2 gigs of RAM?

the bridge icons showing up were probably 32-bit plugins being scanned.

with 2gb RAM, there really isn't any point going 64-bit... i'd stick with 32.

Just giving your Data a 64 instead of a 32 Way Highway

there can be "sendt" 64 bits at the same time, while 32bit only allowed 32, as far as I know
