Default Save track template with option to remember track routings

It would be a huge help to be able to save collections of tracks which contain multiple routings.

This way a collection of tracks can be saved and restored to a collection of busses for example.

I realize track templates currently do retain their routings but this is only possible when the busses are included as tracks when saved. When multiple busses are involved this ceases to be a practical solution.

This would be particularly helpful for composers like myself who work with multiple buses and stem groups.

+1 I know this might be a difficult one to implement but man it would be incredibly useful.

How do you expect REAPER should determine which tracks in new project supposed to routed to the track you just loaded from template? If you have some logic for bus routing, it is probably better to have an action for executing that logic to a newly added track and its future children.

I think I understand your point - Reaper will not know which tracks to route those tracks to in the new project.

Thank you for your reply!

Just a headsup that my script "Quick add FX or track template" has the apply track template feature that keeps in-project routing. It also has an option to add templates according to track names.

You can check the feature release notes with examples here: https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...0&postcount=41

Woa, just like the auto-color/icon feature? Been wishing for that, so awesome and thank you!

To the OP-you can always save the receiving tracks in the template and then routing is preserved.

Yes, though the script does not apply track templates automatically, only when you run it.

Example:

And you're welcome!
