Default Do I need to install all versions of a plug-in?

Hi,
When installing a plug-in, I notice they select all version of the plug-in to install (e.g. VST, VST3, AAX, Standalone), is this really necessary? Or should I just install the plug-in version I need?
(See attached photo)
Thanks!

Just the one you need. VST3 is the newer format of VST (actually VST2) that Steinberg is transitioning to as a format, so both are usually available currently. Audio Units is a Mac specific format. AAX is ProTools only.

Generally many DAWs will run more than one format. We just have to decide which we want to be using. I have gone with VST3 when offered, VST if that's what's offered.

Should you ever need another format of the plugin (if you're moving a project to ProTools or Logic (AU) and want to use the same plugins you can just download them then.

There isn't any reason to fill your drive with versions of the plugin you'll never use. For most it's not that much of a storage issue, but instruments and Romplers can really make it add up.
