Stop track name text matching track colour in R6
Hi - this will hopefully be quick and simple! As the title states, I'd like to use one colour for all track name text (light grey) instead of the colour matching the track. I've searched prefs, looked in theme tweaker etc. and can't find the answer.

I also would like the rainbow track text color to go away and be simple gray white color no matching! I hope someone can share the answer!

Seems like this is handled by the theme tweaker script at all times, without any option to toggle it off.

Right. I've fixed it. It's in the rtconfig file. Search for line 309:
trackLabelColor tcp.label.color
Delete the whole line and replace it with:
set tcp.label.color ?recarm [255 255 255] [184 184 184]
Next, search for line 1043:
trackLabelColor mcp.label.color
Delete the whole line and replace it with:
set mcp.label.color ?recarm [255 255 255] [184 184 184]
I'd recommend making a backup of the rtconfig file just in case anything goes wrong, but this solution has worked for me. The TCP/MCP text colours are the same as D5.

Just seen your reply, EvilDragon - you must've posted it as the same time I was writing mine! I'm not sure if my solution is legitimate or if it will cause something else to break, but so far it seems to be working.

You're trying too hard This was occasionally divisive in testing, so I've put a very easy mod spot in:
Code:
>line 61<
; macro for the color of track labels, with tweaked custom color inheritance if a custom color is too dark
macro trackLabelColor element
set element ?recarm [255 100 0] ?track_selected [255 255 255] ?trackcolor_valid luma{0}<120 + custom_col [80 80 80] custom_col [168 172 172]
endmacro
change that to:
Code:
macro trackLabelColor element
set element [your color]
endmacro
and it will do it for all the track names on all the layouts. Enjoy!

Thank you, WT! I owe you a beer. My WALTER skills/knowledge are close to non-existent.

First off, thank you for all the hard work on the theme stuff. I know you've taken a bit of a beating over it from some, and some have expressed they like it. Really, for me, there were some problems out of the gate such as some immediate shock in seeing my more tame color choices for auto-coloring become super bright colors.. but I think the theme is an improvement overall. It's just going to take a few changes for me, like this one you suggested, to get it how I would like to look. So it's not far off from being really nice, IMO.
I think outside of this, and now having to redo all my autocoloring to something tamer looking, I only have a couple things I'd like to be able to change. I'll save that for some other thread though.

It's explained in this post here:
https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=172341
The short answer is a reaper theme is a zip file. Need to rename it to have .zip extension, unzip it, and you'll find the rtconfig.txt file in the folder inside.
