Nick you said in Facebook that you will design the new theme with your personal preferences and with Cubase and Protools in mind.

What Protools ideas are you planning to put in your new theme?

Thanks

The simplicity and availability of the necessary elements. This is the main idea of this theme.

When the TCP has no colors it looks a little unpolished for me. Like if the elements where floating over the track space. To me the MCP looks solid intuitive, but I feel kind of lost with the TCP. Sorry to critize. It's just my impressión but it's overall a great theme.

top goal here man...awesome theme

only 2 things:

- on TCP there´s an empty space under trackname that could be used to show more information at time...

- thin meters that not showing peaks values...(you could move volume more to the left to let enough space for more meters width?)

I hear ya mate but never know and what I meant, I think Cockos should gatehr lets say including their default Theme, gather 3 other best themes or whatever they judge best themes that are really advanced and clean and user friendly for users to put them part of Reaper installation.

All I know is that this new baby you're working on right now mate, I'm impatient as well as patient for its release. Woooooooooooow everything seems to just flow in the eyes.

Keep up great work

1. This is a "click area". Besides what info do you propose to show?

2. There will be a layout with a huge meter (like the "Meter" layout in the RADO theme)

You have made several nice themes, but imo this one seems to become your masterpiece.

It`s a very clean design, it is easy on the eye, gives you an excelent overview of what is going on, greatly functional and at the same it is of high aestheticly value.
My deepest respect

Just as a sidenote: should the peak meter switch from "green" to "yellow" at -18db as in pro tools and other daw's, instead of -16 like it's in the screenshots?

This is the kind of thing users will have to tweak themselves - there are a few different alignment standards people might be working with. As Nick has said, this theme is based on his prefs only so it's up to us to calibrate that to what we need Though I certainly wouldn't discourage him from providing a separate d/l for -16/18/20 ... some people are understandably not enthused by having to edit images.

Yeah it has to be static or none of the labels for the metering and fader would work properly, hehe... Static is the way to go

I guessed so. The meter interlace goes fuzzy if its included in meter image and resized.

Anyway I like the clarity of the mixer channel strip. I think this theme will be most useful on bigger monitors.

Total awesomeness, so simple clear and smart!

Question (cannot guess from the screenshots): are selected tracks easy to recognize - for example with a bright frame around their TCP box?

Thanks,
Mario

This looks like a great theme.

One feature I've been looking for is better "Custom Track Colors."

With the themes I've tried so far, I pick out a custom color,
say some flavor of brown, and when I apply it, what I actually get
is something that looks like pink tuna.

I'm guessing it's caused by overlaying my color over the theme's color.

Anyway. your theme is one of the very best I've seen so far.
Thanks for all the hard work.

Cool! But can you explain what is the significant difference?

And which one other daw? Only Pro Tools has this switch (in my experience)!

I'd never use this theme, because I mix in the TCP. That being said: This looks really good. Great work again Nick.

Well in protools the top green part of the peak meter reads -18db, that equals exactly 0dbfs in the analog domain. It's just for reference, but it's there, so making the peak go yellow at -16 in theory, has less sense than doing it at -18. Well at the end it's easy to remember the difference, I can work for sure just by remembering "the yellow bar starts at 16", I was pointing it just for consistency.

By the way, gain staging and having signals like you are working in analog environment, can be still really importang in digital workflow. Basically, 80% of the plugins I use for compression and saturations must be fed with a "-18db / 0 dbfs" signal. And so on...

Again not incredible big deal, as 90% of reaper theme don't even have that little feature, but since you seems to like Pro tools (as I do) I was pointing out!

I can just make a mod as soon as you release the theme! Because it's going to be SOON, uh?

Ahah ok, I'm joking
