Default How do you do the final mixing and what not?

After I lay down all the tracks (guitar, bass, drums, etc.) what do I do to finalize it and mix it all/master the track?

btw Am I supposed to record all of my stuff in mono?

Do you mix/master in reaper or do you use another program?

Sorry for such a vague question

that's a big question. the simple answer is you can do everything in reaper. the complicated answer i'd suggest reading as much as you can and practicing as much as you can. a book like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Home-Recording.../dp/1598638815 (written by one of the guys on this forum i think) would help you a lot as well.

When you have all the levels set and you like the sound, go to File->Render to create a single file of your final mix. If you want to render to mp3, you'll need to download the lame_enc.dll (do a search for lame to find out how to do that)

One way to do it is record everything as mono and the pan the tracks left, centre or right as you like.

Reaper can mix and master, provided you know what you're doing.

Keep searching the forums and you'll find more detailed information on all of these topics.
