Default how do I set default volume envelopes for every clip/item/take

HI, not sure of the Reaper terminology but I have multiple clips on different tracks, maybe multiple clips on the same track, and would like to automate volume for each clip - I do not want an overall track volume envelope though, I want individual envelopes for every clip. And I would like that as default so that as soon as I make a clip it has an editable volume envelope available straight away without me having to click on the individual clip and go to Media Item properties, then Take Envelopes to select Volume. I can select clips and use an action but I would rather have clip volume envelopes as the default behaviour

Is this possible?

Envelopes in REAPER are only per track unfortunately.

I don't think there's a way to have take volume envelopes come up as default, but might be wrong. I use keyboard shortcuts as you already proposed.

That's just not true. Reaper has per-take volume/pan/mute/pitch and take fx envelopes.

These don't control the same parameters as track envelopes.

They are envelopes nevertheless. I am pretty sure wiggle's question was simply whether Reaper's take volume envelopes can be set to show up automatically on each created or recorded take. The answer seems to be no . At least not easily from the preferences (if I am not blind). Not sure whether with custom actions or scripts all varieties of how takes can come into existence can be caught. But the envelopes he talks about do exist. He knows they do and they fit his purpose.

I want items controlling track and track FX parameters as much as anyone. No way the dev are not aware of the popularity of that request.

thanks for helping out - I feel as though I should get a prize for finding a parameter you actually can't set up as a default, given how customisable Reaper is
