Default Hello from New Jersey! New guy here

Hello. My name is Derek, I'm retired and live in Vineland, NJ. Thank you for accepting me into the group “
REAPER Forums". Happy to be a member. Anyway I am looking forward to meeting some of you in the near future. Until then….

Please be patient if I ask stupid questions, I will try my best to use the search function, but sometimes search and I don't get along.

I'm loving the forum so far! I just wanted to say how much I enjoy this forum. The experience here is awesome.
So, I hope for some good piece of advice.

My advice to you would be understanding the type of daw reaper is, and expect that you will end up doing lots of menu diving and customization for awhile in comparison to other daws. It is worth it in the end.

Yeah, welcome from a 70+ yr old Reaper user!

Old adage ... "No such thing as a difficult question, only ones you don't know the answer to" .. people here will help, with the occasional bit of banter!

Most important thing when posing/asking a question is to provide as much detail as possible - e.g. question:"My soundcard doesn't make any sound what's wrong?" ... Inbuilt or external SC? Which one/model? Operating system Windows or Mac? Reaper version? Under what circumstances do you get no sound? And so on ... it does happen like this, sometimes ...

Hi Derek, nice to have you here. Best advice I got when coming to REAPER was "Right Click everything!" Kind of vague but really worth trying when exploring the program.
And the knowledge of people here is vast - and matched by their generosity in my opinion...

Old fart as well, and certainly have presented my fair share of stupid questions.
I also look forward to offering up many more. Keeps them guessing.

Hey welcome
Reaper is much different than SAW, Samplitude and many other I have used.
Well worth looking into.

Have fun!
