Obvious user error here, but after syncing Reapack I don't have "Track Versions V2", only "Old" and gui.

GUI Crash
Apologies, maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I keep getting this crash every (or almost every) time I go between versions.
Is there anything I can tweak to keep this GUI crash from happening? The Track Version script seems to be working aside from this issue.
Thanks so much!

Hi Sexan, not sure if you have much time to peruse the thread lately, especially with your massive Area 51 script undertaking (which looks awesome, btw).
This Track Versions script really is a game changer for me in a lot of ways and really addresses a lot of Reaper's shortcomings in this type of workflow. Hoping that you will be able to jump back in at some point.
What would be your thoughts on other scripters incorporating your work? One of the great things about Reaper is groundbreaking scripts like this. And one of the big limitations is there's a large shortage of docker space and ways to incorporate them all into one's workflow.
If something like this could be incorporated into a larger script that would also be a game changer but wanted to see what you thought. I'm sure any scripter would give you full credit and make sure to have appropriate donation links etc.
Thoughts?

Is there any way to use this in REAPER 6? I am not having any luck getting things to copy. Looks great though I can't believe I missed that this existed.

Man thank you so much, Sexan. I would struggle a lot without this as it solves so many Reaper shortcomings in one script.

Just started using this fantastic script. Thanks Sexan ( donation sent ).
Like Stevie, edits are not saving which for me is an accident waiting to happen. I know one day I'll be editing away, swap playlists without hitting the save button and loose a bunch of work.
As I've only just started using this and am using Reaper 6.02 ( Mac OS 10.13.6 ) perhaps I'm just seeing this issue because it's not been updated yet ?

- On ReaPack, install "Lokasenna's GUI library v2 for Lua"
- In your action list, you should now be able to find "Set Lokasenna_GUI v2 library path"

EDIT: Just discovered the Save button. Oops. But I have to say, it seems like an unnecessary extra step. Maybe I'm just missing the point of having it there but it feels unintuitive to write something and then have to hit save to not lose it. I'm almost positive I (or someone) will forget to hit save and lose something important because of that. Just my two cents. Anyhow, take the next part of what I'm saying with a grain of salt I suppose.
Not sure if anyone else is having this, but I'm finding that contents of midi items created on new track versions aren't saving.
To break it down:
1) Created midi item on TCP, wrote some stuff in it
2) Create a couple more track versions with Sexan's script
3) In track version 3, I create clips and write stuff in them
4) I switch back to track version 1 to compare
5) Upon switching to track 3 again, my midi items are placed properly in the TCP, but they are empty.
Big kudos to Sexan for all of this work, just wanted to point this out.
~
To ramble for a sec:
I find it sincerely disappointing that this functionality isn't baked into Reaper's core functionality. I would personally pay money to see it implemented. Sexan's script is great and he's a boss for making it, but there are issues with it not being completely seamless with the rest of the program, like the lack of keybinding, the fact that spacebar gets hogged by the Track Versions window (thus disabling start/stop while it's open), and one other weird thing that's happening where the Track Versions window likes to switch my Docker focus to the Performance tab, away from the mixer.
It seems like people are begging to have this. I really appreciate Reaper and the developers but this kind of missing functionality really hamstrings it in my opinion.

Well said SamuelBeckett! Hopefully Sexan will get a chance sometime soon to work on that beautiful script, this is a must have for every DAW. Sexan is killing it with Area 51 at the moment but I keep my hopes up for an update that will fix all the issues mentioned in previous posts.

Since Schwa is busy with AreaSelection so I've put mine on Pause until we see whats going to happen:
New script from ground up, no GUI, integrated into native UI.
ATM is about 300 lines of code and has 70% of functionality of the original script.
Old script is a giant mess and its not going to be supported anymore. This will come instead with all of the features of the original
BTW sorry, my laptop is 4k.....

Very nice Sexan
Does it run in the background all the time to show the squares over the tracks? Or only when you run the action? Can the squares be over the TCP instead of the arrange area?
I think your idea is very good.

Yeah it will be over TCP, I did not yet changed it, it will be an icon.
It is defered script so it needs to run all the time. It needs to monitor what is on track, what changed etc for autosave to work.
It also works on envelopes, I've just captured items.
The general idea is this are virtual tracks, unlimited number of virtual tracks and it will follow that regarding future work and features

Ah ok maybe i 'm wrong, but as it seems it capture all the items in the track.
My thought was if we had an option to capture only items from any track and make a list with them.
So bellow virtual Tr to have Virtual Items with a list of the captured items to use at any track. But that i don't know if it's possible since it captures items per track.

It creates "Virtual new track", its like having 5 tracks but its on 1 track.
The concept behind it is to be a TRACK

Yeap, understood that, i remember doing this from the previous script version.
I just thought that it might be useful also to save a single item within a list, without saving the whole track items. But that's another concept...
Sorry back to it, exciting script, looking forward
