Previously, the preference "Time selection auto-punch audio recording creates loopable section" would be applied when using actions like "toggle recording at next measure." Now the preference is ignored and a regular recorded media item is created using those actions.

Hello,

Is it possible to add inside the mouse modifier > Project region:
Move contents of poject region always snap
Lots of users move ALWAYS regions with the snap mode. So, we can win times if the snap mode is always activated when we move regions.
Thx you

The ARA fixes unfortunately do not fix the undo bug
"Save minimal undo states" is not enabled, so I expect any undos done in Reaper to NOT result in lost Melodyne edits. The bug:
Do some edits, like trimming items.
Change your mind and Undo.
All melodyne edits are lost.

I don't want to be the shameless guy asking for unrelated features but as I see a lot of work going into the Render options, wouldn't it be possible to just add to this a little 'normalize' checkbox with a settable dB value beneath? Would help a lot of us sound-designers who create libraries, sound assets etc as shown by the high post count in this FR: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=80586
I apologize in case it is totally not related to the work you devs are doing right now, but who knows.

Looks like a great update. Hopefully there isn't a hurry to get this one out because I won't get a chance to test for a few days

When setting ID3-Tags using ReaScript, can I use all these frames in this list
https://id3.org/id3v2.3.0#Declared_ID3v2_frames
or am I limited to the frames supported in the "Render Metadata"-dialog?
And does the same CHAP= marker-naming-scheme used for MP3-chaptermarkers go for Opus, Ogg and Flac as well?

So this is 6.10, not 6.1. Means we're not at the "lit" level that schwa was mentioning some time back.

We only support metadata in the list in REAPER. You can the same use CHAP= project markers or regions for chapter tags in either ID3 or vorbis tags.

Hmm, can't get the stored title. It always returns false.
A, B = reaper.GetSetProjectInfo_String(0, "ID3:TIT2", "", false)
Am I holding it wrong?
Edit: Setting doesn't seem to work either.
Neither
A, B = reaper.GetSetProjectInfo_String(0, "ID3:TIT2|Howdeho", "", true)
nor
A, B = reaper.GetSetProjectInfo_String(0, "ID3:TIT2", "Howdeho", true)
seem to do anything.

Embedding ID3 tags in wav files only works via the batch converter, but not via the normal render dialogue? (macOS10.14.6)
At least when opening the files via quicklook in Finder.
Thanks!

But it does say so in the list?
The Artist tag shows up via batch converter.

Ah, that was a changelog line from a pre-release build where it was temporarily supported. It's definitely not in 6.10rc1. You might be seeing some other information, from the INFO metadata section maybe.

If I do not embed Metadata, then the name of the file fits in the title (mp3 - ID3). Is this the way it should be? I checked it with Foobar2000

Maybe Foobar2000 does not show it correctly (for ease of understanding), but still it seems that the title accepts the file name

I think that is foobar2000 automatically using the filename for the title metadata if no metadata exists. If you import the file back into REAPER and look at the source properties, does any metadata appear?

Great update, I love the metadata stuff. And melodyne fixes are more than welcome! But is it lit? Perhaps I was naive hoping for some playlist developments.

Nice !
With FLAC being able to save tempo and metadata, is it on par with WAV now, as far as "non audio" goes ?
Does it also save markers and regions and all that?

I cannot check the checkboxes for that in Render to File-dialog, not even when I use "Selected media items" and "Selected media items via master".
Only works for WAV(both) and AIFF(only stretch markers/transient guides).

wav and aiff both support embedding tempo natively within the file format itself, which is why that option appears in the file-format-specific section of the render dialog. mp3, flac, ogg, and opus don't support this, but they do support text-based metadata, so you can use the metadata dialog to type in a tempo (you can also type in "hello" for the tempo or whatever you want, since it's just text embedded in the file).

Metadata support for RPP-PROX
Wow! All these metadata support updates are amazing! Very excited! While you are at it, can you you add metadata support to sub projects RPP-PROX? This could be very useful! Thank you!

I did write an iXML chunk-reading script for wav files. It read all the wav files in your project and found groups of poly files along with channel names etc. It offered batch item/take renaming via wildcards using iXML and bext metadata.
It would be great if some iXML tags were read natively and stored as audio file variables in the likes of item and source file properties dialogues, media explorer, project bay, etc. Wildcards could then be used for item naming or rendering.
It might be a bit “post” for much of REAPER’s user base though...
