Default Two interfaces to double in/outs?

I've got two 4x4 identical interfaces. I wonder if it would be possible to use them both to get 8x8. Mainly I wonder about the clock, I guess they would need to be synchronized in same way. I've seen a video of it working but wonder if anyone here experimented with this and if it actually works good without any problems?

I believe if you are on a Mac you can combine multiple audio interfaces by creating an aggregate device.

With Windows it's tricky (clock sync, as you say) unless your interfaces have digital I/O and you can set them up as master/slave

I'm on PC. I did try to connect two different interfaces but had to use ASIO 4 ALL. Looks like it might work but I'm just not sure how reliable this setup can be. I'd hate to rearrange my studio only to find out later down the road that there are some inherent problems.
I still get goose bumps when I remember how problematic it was to setup DAW studio when it all began. It was a horror.

Some folks have used ASIO4ALL to 'combine' interfaces on Windows but they won't sync well and you'll have track timing issues :-(

What are the two interfaces?

I have used ASIO4ALL to "aggregate" multiple interfaces into one, and it works.
