Default Recent project list?

Is there a way to open a project without it showing in the recent project list under the file menu?

Or is it editable from some file location?

Those are stored in the reaper.ini file in the resources folder

Yes, click [File], select "Open project" and browse to the folder where the project file is.

That is not what OP needs.
He/she wants that the opened project is not added into "Recent projects" list.

And the reason? Well, maybe the user is just opening lots of project when searching for the correct one and then the recent list is unnecessarily populated with many unrelated projects.

TIP!
IT IS POSSIBLE even it is not straightforward.

Just copy your project file and paste it into "ProjectTemplates" folder in Reaper's Resource folder.
Then open new blank project tab and select "Project templates >" from the File menu to open project from template.
It is workaround (not super nice) but I use it lot of time.

Might be simpler to delete the last file from the recent list with a script. You just run it after closing the project.

Definitely, but such script doesn't exist (yet) while the workaround is using only native functions that exists right now. (and it is acceptable if it is used for one or few projects from time to time, of course)

And an alternative option - manually messing with reaper.ini file is always a bad idea even if you know what you are doing.

For removing specific entries from the recent projects list and loading .RPP project files from a custom Project Template folder (if you want to try the workaround akademie mentioned in post #5 this way), you can check out my ReaLauncher script (see link in my signature)

Wow! Thanks Guys! The versatility of the software can still surprise me as I was expecting an answer of 'Nope.' And yes, the reason why is I am fairly prolific with song ideas, some more flushed out than others to the point of after 2 weeks, I forget what I have done. So I want to declutter my recent project list with stuff I don't want there after exploring through projects.

Thanks again.
