Color Theme saving
Hello all. I'm trying to understand where the themes I alter and save are being saved at. After I make some adjustments with the colors and font, etc., and then save them under a new name - I choose to save them in the Color Themes folder as that is also the default path. When I look under the Options - Color Themes, I see they are there with the new name I gave it. However, when I browse through my folders outside of Reaper and get to the Reaper - Color Themes folder I don't see the new names. Are they being saved inside the original folder I modified them from? Inside Reaper - Options - Color Themes I still see both the original and the modified themes. Thanks.

You can't find the new *.reapertheme files in Windows Explorer? Or you are expecting to see new Folders also?

What's happening I think is you are looking at the folders that contain the images, they don't change.
When you save a new theme it is saved as a text file with the name you give it, the text file saves the colours only, somewhere in that file it tells REaper to use a folder for another theme that has the images in.
I bet that doesn't make any sense, but if you open one of the text files you will see at the bottom it points to an images folder called something else - best way to understand is to have a look.

That could be, I'll check that. Thanks. Yeah, I was looking for another image folder with the new name. So, there are two folders - one with the images and the other a .theme extension. Which would I look in for the text file?

I looked into this more, looking in the text files, and I can't seem
to find anything with the new name I specified. I'm also trying to clean up my Theme folder and I even removed some of the main themes that I altered thinking that by doing this the altered renamed themes would be removed as well, but they were not. Now, when I open up the altered themes, the colors are as saved but the images are defaulted to the Classic theme. Thing is, the Classic theme is not even showing up in the Windows Browser. It only shows up with Reaper opened and in the Color Themes drop down list...

It seems you've got into a right muddle, I'm having difficulty following what's ended up where! Perhaps you could post a screenshot of your colorthemes folder for us to have a look at? Have a read of this too.
You won't ever see the classic theme files, they are embedded in Reaper itself.

Thanks for the help. Did you need to see the color theme folder from the Reaper drop down list, or the color theme folder from the windows browser?
Yes, my new named themes are seeing the Classic theme as the host and there's no way to get to that.

If you have deleted your image folders bfloyd, unless you only want the default themes that come with the intall you have little choice but to download some new themes.
You can keep any colour themes text files you have and re-point them at new theme image folders you download though. If any of them have been changed but have the original theme name you will to change it to prevent it from being written over though.
Your colour theme folder should look something like this, note how I have more theme files than folders, that's because some of them share the theme images

Thanks for the pic. That is exactly what's going on. I too have more color theme folders that icon folders. And, when I removed the icon folder to which color theme I altered, it looked to the classic icon folder by default. My question then - how can I delete the color themes that I created and saved because they are only showing up inside of Reaper when I select Options - Color Themes. When I browse through my C Drive and get to the Reaper - Color Themes (as shown in your attached picture) they are not there. It seems they were saved somewhere else but I can't find them...:/
Example of what I did - I dl'd the Blue Moon theme from Resources. I changed some of the font and colors using the Options - Preferences - Appearance/Color Themes. I then clicked the Save button and called it My Blue Moon. Now I see both "Blue Moon" and "My Blue Moon" in the Options - Color Themes, but I don't see "My Blue Moon" in my C Drive - Program Files - Reaper - Color Themes. I only see the regular "Blue Moon" icon and color theme folders. Thanks for the help.

Still learning the pic posting. I attached a couple of images of what I am seeing both inside of Reaper and outside of Reaper. You can see how the altered themes ("My") are in Reaper but I can't find them elsewhere. Thanks.

Yeah, that's just weird ...erm... might you have 2 versions of Reaper installed in two different places? *shrug* very confusing.

No, only one version. I'm stumped. When I select save for the altered color theme I'm sure that it is going to the same place because I only type "my" in front of the original name and don't change the location...

I just did a Windows Start Search and the color themes are showing up in the Reaper - Color Themes folder... I have no idea.
