Default [Solved] Melodyne ARA Not Loading Audio

When opening Melodyne Studio ARA on an audio track in Reaper, there is no audio showing in the Melodyne window.

Unless I have misunderstood, I have read that just opening Melodyne via Reaper's fx button on a track the audio automatically loads in Melodyne.

I am using the latest version of Reaper (5.971) and Melodyne Studio (4.2.1).

I'd be grateful for any help with this.

Thanks.

Hello Vincent,

Thanks for your reply and suggestion.

Yes, the Melodyne VST3 is definitely showing in the fx and in the Melodyne window.

I'll try rescanning the VSTs in the morning and see if this kick-starts things.

Is Melodyne the first FX on the track?

Hello Alistair,

Thanks for your reply and I confirm that Melodyne is showing as the first on the track.

I'm about to uninstall then try a clean install of both Reaper and Melodyne and see what happens.

Please check if the orange edit button in the track lane is active. It can happen that it starts deactivated. Then you see no audio in Melodyne.

Well, after a clean reinstall of both Reaper and Melodyne I'm delighted that everything is now working beautifully. When opening Melodyne via the fx button, the audio of the track loads into Melodyne.

I have absolutely no idea what happened and am just relieved that everything is great.

Thanks to everyone for the prompt and helpful suggestions.

I had the same issue. Although the orange button was on, I clicked on the grey button on the left and then back on the orange one. As if by magic, the audio now appeared in Melodyne. Thanks!

Default ARA problem solved

Today i found a solution what to do if ARA does not work. I added melodyne 5 to a vocal track, and nothing happened. Normally ARA would kick in and load the audio into melodyne to edit, but this time nothing happened.
Tried a lot of tips from different reaper forums but nothing helped.
Finally i figured out that the problem was located in my plugin load settings. If you right click any plugin in the FX browser you can select the plugin load option with "run as". If its set on "separate process" or the "embed bridged UI" is selected, ARA will not work.
Hope that may save some hours of trial and error on your side....
