I just heard it was suicide. Not sure where they got that info from.

Drugs are bad, m'kay.

Still remember seeing him in that hamster ball at Reading festival. Entertaining nutter.

Yeh - that sucks, v sad.

Early Prodigy inspired my first electronic music.

sampled bits of their stuff with my 8 bit sampler off of cassette singles I'd bought..

You got to think addiction may have played a part. Not the time to speculate tho.

Bummer - LeeRoy was a client of mine wayyyyy back, so I got to say "hi" to all of them ages ago. Dont remember much about Keith but this is shocking and sad. So young.

Strange to find you in this thread, Sai'ke, after seeing you already in the Filther thread every time.

I really was sad when I heard about Keith Flint. The Prodigy was one of the most unique and strange combos during the 90ies. It always felt like listening to alien music. So much pressure, dirt, unconventional use of instruments. This nervous 1/16 bass with absolute no feeling or expression in "Breath" was kind of weird and wrong but this also was all about The Prodigy. Just stunning, strange and powerful. And I can't tell what strange memories all those Prodigy songs bring up, if I listening to them. Holy sh ...! This were good (dirty) times. And it reminds me that I wanted to watch "Hackers" again. Beside other things I liked this movie because of Voodoo People.

Keith was the perfect fit with his crazy posing and aggressive screaming. I will miss him. (´。_。`)

hehhh-well..defo stayed up n out more than once....lolz
the essex barn was the place--all the peoples, the vibrations were totally unique---cutting edge sounds/dj's and performances for years--its all a bit blurryyyy.heh..
1 of the main promoters of mangled (greg h.) also passed away fairly recently--these guys defined rave+that energy from the earliest days in that area there=respect.
glad to meet them all and be a part of that movement--because it was the movement..after hiphop/rap =an extention of higher infinite power healing other people >>thru<< rhythm, art, poetry.
yep.toxic substance have a very negative effect on most bods..moderation was'nt really the 'done thing' ..
blessed in power.

I rarely leave my den

I think for me a lot of the energy came from the production side of it, but Keith's voice and crazy dance antics did match them very well. I didn't even know he was battling with depression.

This could be very interesting for people who like The Prodigy's music. I think using samples like they did had to lead into raw, uneven songs.

yeah- there's a lot of new schooler guyz n girlz who just love to try n recreate all the older vibes--a lot of hiphop producers and early techno producers were totally pioneering techniques and sound banks from daydot..
prodigy learnt from all these guyz^-the pioneers, and just mashed it to a modern flavour-- it was places like london's clink prison/nightclub-where true british imported acid house, techno started out-- then the big, bigger, massive raves came about after that--it all came from early us disco+chicago, detroit< all them places++ european balearic beat..
keith n leeroy were mainly like jazz dancing, liam was early dj-producer with recording kit-but they all loved that scene+ went to a lot of the earliest orbital parties etcetc..
great times--very..expanding times...
a lot of the guyz went onto become multi_millionairs-including many dj's.
it was like a second summer of love-'85..the landing..the early days of robotic influences..heh.bit 'scary' at certain times-- even the police feared this movement of the 'jilted generations'--lol they had little control over anything,to begin..

1luv.
