Default Managing 32 bit float recordings

I'm all in on the Zoom F6 recorder for my video projects. The dual ADC, low noise preamps, and 32 bit float recording has already saved my behind because I can recover both very low level and very high level signals in post without suffering noise or clipping.

But my post processing is not very efficient and I suspect there's a better way. I'm currently splitting the track at points where the level changes significantly then using Media Item Properties (F2) to normalize the section. I'm using this approach because I often need larger gain changes than are available in the track control panel or track envelopes and also because I want to see the change in the waveform.

Here's a clip demoing my workflow currently: https://youtu.be/Ruu73wULPTM?t=290

It's not terribly smooth (grin).

Any suggestions for improving this process?

Thanks,
Fran
