[SOLVED] Decent sampler v1.3.13 - Reaper 6.46
So, updated Reaper and Decent sampler and now it crash upon loading the vst3 with
Code:
rtconfig: front 'set' not found rtconfig: front 'set' not found ALSA: using mmap interleaved ALSA: using mmap interleaved The program 'reaper' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'. (Details: serial 54 error_code 3 request_code 20 minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) Tested last workin Decent sampler is v1.3.6 beyond this every version crash.. I have sent DS team a ticket..

I suspect in my case its failing beyond 1.3.7 as it no longer tolerates symlinks as it used to. I cant use Settings menu to change database location, so I symlink $HOME/.config/DecentSampler/ to /media/library/...
EDIT: Installed DS v1.4.0 and initialized to default, but it just crashes REAPER instantaneously, so there must be something else going on here..

@slangbein are you able to enter a custom location to the database? take look at attached screenshot how the fileman looks for me.
EDIT: tested gdb and strace both show the same issue as mentioned in first post. Code:
munmap(0x7fdf5536c000, 29786) = 0 socketpair(AF_UNIX, SOCK_STREAM, 0, [8, 13]) = 0 mmap(NULL, 8392704, PROT_NONE, MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS|MAP_STACK, -1, 0) = 0x7fdf540c0000 mprotect(0x7fdf540c1000, 8388608, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE|PROT_EXEC) = 0 rt_sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, ~[], [], 8) = 0 clone(child_stack=0x7fdf548bfef0, flags=CLONE_VM|CLONE_FS|CLONE_FILES|CLONE_SIGHAND|CLONE_THREAD|CLONE_SYSVSEM|CLONE_SETTLS|CLONE_PARENT_SETTID|CLONE_CHILD_CLEARTID, parent_tid=[23460], tls=0x7fdf548c0640, child_tidptr=0x7fdf548c0910) = 23460 rt_sigprocmask(SIG_SETMASK, [], NULL, 8) = 0 futex(0x69c91b8, FUTEX_WAIT_PRIVATE, 0, NULLThe program 'reaper' received an X Window System error.
