Default Linux support for Universal Audio audio interfaces - petition

It must have been discussed here, but I could not find it using the search function, so just in case...

Apparently, Universal Audio have semi-officially mentioned on their forum a prospect of reconsidering Linux support for their products if a suitable petition would get 10,000 signatures.

The original thread:
https://uadforum.com/general-discuss...x-drivers.html

It's a lot of signatures, and it seems that they also promptly reneged on it, but it still might be beneficial for the Linux community if such a petition would succeed, even if it falls short of the 10,000 mark. Currently just under 1500 signatures.

The petition:

Default Marketing

UAD is a pure marketing company, not a tech factory.

This whole Linux rumor is probably a marketing gag.
I think they will not spend any money for Linux as Linux is not a market.
Only an opinion...

I just scrolled through the thread and it seems that there was no sincere intention by UA. Still, this petition could eventually help solve that chicken and egg situation, with other manufacturers.

I am beginning to wonder if UAD are actually on the way out. FWIW I am still using my two UAD-1 pci-e cards on my Windows Pc, despite them being obsolete for years, but less and less.
Current computer ability and available plugins are making them less and less relevant imo.
