This makes sense now, I somehow don't have a default record path at all.
On this linux machine i don't record so i didn't notice.
Even Reaper can't record something when unsaved. I assumed if it's blank in preferences there must be one. Should have looked for it in the file manager...

I created the path and set it as default, now everything works perfect.

Not sure how important it is but I had an issue with the IR not being loaded in ReaVerb automatically.

It took some time but I found it to be due me having renamed my plugins with the developers name at the end of the plugin since I want it to be visible in the mixer fx slot.. from the default "ReaVerb (Cockos)" to "ReaVerb - Cockos".

Not a big issue, I went back to the default and all was working fine again, but I thought I would post it here in case someone else ends up in the same situation as me and are looking up this thread.

I just tried this out but it's throwing an error

"... Response (IR) of the FX chain of the selected track.lua:50: attempt to call a nil value (field 'SNM_GetIntConfigVar')"

Am I doing something wrong? Installed through ReaPack, and I'm clicking on the script from the actions menu after selecting a track with a reverb plugin on it.

You need SWS Extension installed. I take it for granted that all who use Reaper have SWS too.

The loading to ReaVerb started to act crazy in the last months.

It loads up Reaverbate instead of Reaverb.
I fixed this by deleting Reaverbate, i never use that anyway.

Now it loads Reaverb, but instead of adding a File with the impulse, it adds an echo generator.

Any idea?

It is due to the changes that happened to Reaverb a few versions ago. I'll fix it!

Awesome tool!

Any chance of getting this script to work with an arbitrary channel count?

That's for us working with ambisonics or multichannel workflows featuring from 3 to 64 channels on each of our fx-chain.

Since it's been requested again and again...

v2.10 changelog
- Multi-channel support
- Make sure the IR is inserted exactly at the edit cursor position, if it was requested to be inserted to the project

I tried this script recently and had mixed results.

Sometimes it seemed to work without issue. I was not able to capture impulse from any of my UAD DSP plugins for some reason though. I intend to give it another shot as I would really like some impulses from my UAD EMT 140, Ocean Way Studios, and Capitol Chambers plugins as they are very DSP-hungry - would love to have even an approximatation available in Reaverb

If you run action "Item: Apply track/take FX to items", are the UAD FX applied to an item?

I'm almost sure that this problem is because UAD plugins does not report tail lenght correctly. They report 0, so the reverb tails just cut off, it thinks there is no processing. At least with UADx this is the case.

You can try this: insert a suuuuuper low noise generator before the UAD plugin. Like literally -130db of noise. It will not be audible and will not fuck with your capture.

Hi,

On Reaper 7.11 win64, "Load in ReaVerb" is not loading correct the file, inserting an echo instead.
