Jack, thanks for the work so far, it really looks great but.....Is there a way to make the Check marks in the FX chain windows not be black. Its very hard to see, gray would be better.
Thanks!

i have no control over the color of those checkboxes. they are windows controls. if there is a workaround it would be something justin does, nothing i can do
your windows color scheme adjusts the background of that window, so you could adjust your windows color scheme (window color i think is the one you'd adjust) to accommodate.
you need to restart REAPER after that to make the changes take effect however, and because you adjust your color scheme it happens through all windows programs.
is there a way we can add more colors for the configuration of themes? there definitely needs to be more -- for the one you stated there and also for the piano roll and such.
if you are referring to my 3DCC color theme being too dark, you can adjust it the same way only use 3DCC to do it, and choose 'window color background' or whatever its' called in 3DCC
hope that helps.

ok i finished. not too sure if i like the icons i used or not. i may revisit it and do a more 'professional/standard' theme, with less cute icons.
i like the cute stuff ok but it didn't turn out quite like i had imagined.
for those interested, i have the source PSD if you want it.
justin; feel free to include this.
thanks.

hmm... i REALLY like that font..
cant just throw it in the reaper install? i mean, its grymm we're talkin about here
this theme reminds me of the gambit stage in spider man and the xmen for SNES.

hehehe
i'm going to be revisiting it and doing some tweaks. i went wayyyyy overboard on the saturation index for the icons. in isolation they looked ok, but in use, not so good. need to take that down a few notches and make the stuff less cute looking.
my goal is to make an icon set that looks more pro, not so 'rainbow brite vomited on my display' ...

good to hear, think its looks nice
we do need a new Default skin for reaper methinks -- perhaps way down the road a simpler but sexy skin could be down the line?

Hi Grymmjack !
I like the big outline of the icons, but you're right : it is very very colorfoul, and the purple vumeters + purple clips make it even more obvious.
(Maybe you sholdn't listen to Prince when working with Photoshop ??? )
Most of the icons and vumeters seem to shout : "hey man ! have you seen me !!"

pimp my grymm !
I tried to hijack your skin, to get rid of a bit of saturation, and drop down a bit the purple/blue stuff.
It is some kind of "Army" variation, but to my taste it looks a bit more like an "overall" stuff, instead of colorfighting icons
Anyway, it tends to show that your stuff reacts very well to customization

(.. me again... i may be in fake designer mode !)
I second that.
I prefer the more "sober" icons (solo, mute, efx, phase), than the quite esoteric (pyramid) or toolbox-esque icons.
It could be fine to make two skins (like the OhmForce plugins : one "pro" and a "funky" alternative"), because bold & rainbow can be fine too (and fun), but mightn't fit in the "pro" paradigm ?
(my 2 cents)
Cheers

I hope you don't mind me making sketches with your stuff, mr GJ ?

Gee, I've been working toward a theme that looks like my favorite UI, Cool Edit, but after seeing this, I'm thinking that I might switch. This one's got a very cool look. What I like about it is not only its initial attractiveness, but also that it's easy on the eyes for long sessions in front of the screen. Another thing I like about it, is that the longer I look at it, the more I like it. Which sums up my impression of my favorite music as well, btw.
Good work, G.

Thank you jason.
I am afraid i can't, because it was only playing with the screenshot in Photosohop, so i didn't really made the changes to the theme.
If many of you like it, i may go deep into icon & color scheme editing one by one (but i might wait after GrymmJack has made some enhancements to his Black Magic theme, as it can fullfill many people expecations !).

i've got the PSD here for anyone who wants the real source images. all it'd take though is to open the icons in an icon editor and adjust the saturation index. i know that there are a few icon packages that can do this operation.
however, i've been using photoshop for the entire production - i found a file import/export plugin that reads/writes ICO including the XP types... pretty awesome.
anyway i have the psd with all the layers and layer sets and i'm willing to share it if anyone wants to have a go...

I really like these, good job!
The faders are cool, but I'd get rid of the thick black line and nudge them around a bit so they look centered.

Unfortunately, my 21" monitor died awhile back, and I'm using an old 17" until I scrape up a couple of bucks for a new LCD. This monitor's really dark, so I can't see anything, but it seems really nice.
Thanks again for the effort, grymm.
