Default Where's the Quantize Events Box?

I just intalled the latest version of Reaper. I can't seem to make it appear when I want to quantize a midi event.

Where has it gone?

Try this:

Open the reaper.ini with a text editor and change these x/y window position values either to 0 or to something which is inside your screen resolution:

quantwnd_x=0
quantwnd_y=0

Wait....what?

Your saying it's opening but I can't see it because of the screen resolution?

Can anyone confirm that's what needs to be done?

No, my guess is that the quanitze window (position) was somehow moved outside of the visible area of your screen (since you can't seem to see the quantize window when trying to open/show it).

You can reset the quantize window x/y-screen-position by editing the lines mentioned above.

Make a backup before editing.

I once spent 15 minutes cursing at reaper and torturing everyone in the reaper chat because my mouse pointer dissappeared

I was working on color themes and set item background accidentally to the same color as the mouse

ooops

The easiest way to find lost windows is to simply run the action "Cascade all floating windows". Or in REAPER's menu, View -> Cascade all floating windows.

This action ignores some windows such as "Raw MIDI data" and script GUIs, but it should work fine for the Quantize window.

There it is. I figured there must be a more direct, simple, menu based way.

Still, Solger came through with flying colors.

Good to know this stuff!
