Just a quick thing guys...

https://i.imgur.com/dKxWpWc.mp4

It's like the ballistic of the swipe action is continuing to be read after the modifier is released. Have definitely experienced this before but this is super exaggerated now in 6.11.

With this new version I have this message :

"There were 38 items in the project that were not understood. If this project was created in a newer version of REAPER, this version may not preserve all of the settings of the project.

Project tokens not recognized:

EGUID
"

What does it mean ?

wouldn't you want suppress inertia ON to stop the scrolling after release?

I don't have my macbook here to test this, but I usually had scrolling with inertia disabled in system prefs.

I like this but, shouldn't this be an option? I'd kinda like to hold alt for faster scrolling like it used to be

Right but I have the actual Multitouch options themselves disabled. I tried toggling just now though, doesn't make a difference either way.

That warning is usually fine to ignore if you have previously been running a prerelease build, but that particular token should be readable by 6.11. Are you certain this warning is with 6.11 and not 6.10?

Well, although it already doesn't seem visually 'broken', now those Rea plugins look really really awful (with all that white space).

More in the original bug report thread:
Graphic bug in some of v6's native Rea... plugins

EDIT: But to be honest, visual non-buggy consistency with old v5.x is restored at least, yes.

Too late for the test. I have already done a new save of my project and there is no warning anymore. Fixed.

Are the improvements in macOS Metal blitting included in v6.11?

The warning was with 6.10. I thought I have installed the last version. That was not the case.

OK, that makes sense. The warning is just telling you that the project was saved in a later version than 6.10, but it's fine to ignore.

Cool update thank you !!

Would it be possible to choose the direction of the mouse-wheel scroll for the mixer ? Right now it is in reverse by default. Some people (me included) would prefer a non-reversed scroll.

You've put so much effort into making project and file organization better with these latest releases. This metadata support is powerful stuff and it's rarity in DAW's in general. Some have it, some don't... Now REAPER's in the first category quite solidly. Thank you!

I hope to see it slowly expanded and improved in the future

Devs:

Are you aware that since some recent update of Win10 a folder can be set to work cases-sensitive ?

A colleague of mine recently got hit severely, as a very old folder (originally created by Win XP or whatever) accidentally had this flag set and some of his software did not work anymore as expected.

take care !

Excellent release, Just a small niptick,

  • $itemnote should be $itemnotes, plural, as every other actions / window about Item Notes, for consistency.

OK, this is interesting. Now I'm getting random hung notes when starting playback then stopping playback very quickly (like pressing space twice within half a second timeframe). Doesn't happen every time but it happens, pretty much with any VSTi over here.

Also can happen when stopping playback within half a second or so of the loop turning over back to the beginning.

Please check it out?

Yes I still have this exaggerated scrolling issue still, and I still have the GUI/FPS issue when in the mixer view, scrolling up and down in the mixer view with my Magic Mouse makes the mixer meters FPS slow right down and almost pause, the play head in the background completely stops until the exaggerated scrolling stops, then the FPS of the playhead and mixer meters goes back to normal FPS/movement.

Every thing still plays and sounds perfect.., its just the FPS/GUI.

Nobody? This might be the most disruptive possible behaviour, given that scrolling/zooming is one of the most common gestures a person does in a DAW...this can't slip through the cracks if it's wide-spread and not just me.

Is it possible to add this feature (option) for the arrangement view (vertical scroll with track) ?

With the drag (mouse middle button), the mousewheel and the scrollbar.

It will be more intelligent, consistant with the mixer, clean and fast to navigate between the different tracks.

Just to add to hung notes, found a reproducible way to get them to occur:

1. With track Record Arm set to Automatic play some notes
2. Now, while still holding notes, change the active track selection to another track

Result: the notes you were holding when you changed the track selection are hung.

Seems like if Track Record Arm is set to automatic and the track selection changes, there should be note offs sent to the prior, active track.

I dont know if this is something but i installed 6.11 and i think that dragging the bottom makes visuals weird on the mixer. different from when scrolling using mouse wheel .

confirming that on windows. some of the tracks get 'squishy'. But I don't think this is a new bug, I've seen things like this before

I wonder:

- why is the gamma slider the other way around (brighter to left and not right)?
- why is the gamma slider in the script not centered when it's on the center (==default) value?
- what is a practical difference here between gamma and midtones?
- how many audio users of Reaper know how to work with highligh/midtone/shadows?
- why is the range of them sliders so large when colors with most of them (with default theme) are clipped even before the half point in each direction?
- what is a use case for saturation, especially maxing it out? I thought is was designer's choice to choose good colors.
- what is a use case for tint (which by my experience with NLEs should be called hue(-shift))?
- why does it all look like from a video/photo color correction tool?

- which slider should an occupied user in a hurry choose when he wants a theme just slightly brighter?
