You say "Ala Kazam! Compressors be gone" and it works for all but UAD stuff. There's also stuff in the SWS extensions that allows you to bypass all or some fx at certain levels ie. in the first slot for selected tracks. You'll get the idea. Install the SWS extensions (just yell out "TIM?" and you'll find them) and check out the actions menu afterwards to program your favorite bypasses with keyboard commands.
hint: filter the word "bypass" in the actions menu.
Better?

That would be an interesting command for the SWS console.
Bypassing with a regular expression. Hmm.
What say you, Tim ?

i was thinkign the same thing. but couldn't snapshots be used for exactly this? record your stuff and snapshot a snapshot with plugs you want activated and then snapshot with plugs deactivated and switching back and forth will change all your settings between the two. other settings would revert though also. so this is maybe not fool proof. i didn't check bypass in filter though yet, but that sounds liek a great idea.

ROLE UP ROLE UP!.. you've seen "auto-colour" now donate to "auto-ICON" :)
I've created a new bounty for "auto-icon based on track name"
If you think it's a good cause please go here..
http://www.reaperbounty.tooshka.com/...p?17.0#post_29
and show support by donating to it
Below is a summary of the idea..
"An idea to have an additional column next to the colour indicator that
would allow a path to an icon that could also be loaded when that name is
given. Double clicking the path icon would open up the browser where you
could choose an icon, it would then use this path to load that icon for
that track name (as well as colour too)"

the easiest way to do this would be to have an option where the track name will automatically open the png of the name of the track name and you could set it to behave this way and which folder to look in somewhere in some otpions thing. this would require you to name your pngs the same as you want your track names to be named. i think i might support this depending on how easy it is to do. it's a nice feature, i like the idea, i would find it handy. not sure how many people use icons though, and there are lots of great things i'd like, but if it is quite quick to program, i'd be down.

That sounds like not a bad way to do it
makes moving folders easier to as the paths don't have to be absolute.
will post your suggestion in the "reaper bounties thread" here..

I was wondering where was the "Auto Color" data was saved.
Reaper crashed and my Auto Color rules were gone. I'd like to export them if possible.
Thank you.

It's all in reaper.ini. Search for "AutoColor".

all of these don't work properly anymore:
S&M: CLOSE ALL FLOATING WINDOWS
S&M: Close all FX chain/Add FX windows
S&M: Close all envelope windows
S&M: Close all floating FX windows
S&M: Close all parameter modulation windows
S&M: Close all routing windows
Close all floating windows is a bit too much for my needs, I want to close everything but the floating toolbar and the snapshots.
can't do that with Cockos's "toggle show/hide all floating windows"

nothing happens when I run them
only "Close all floating..." close the action window (sometimes it close all the windows but only once, for the second time it doesn't work)

please, Reflected, when you report something: be sure it's true and that you do it in the correct thread. As said Tim, these actions are OK in the SWS extensions, you're talking about something else:
- these actions are not part of sws extensions (i.e. "S&M" rather than "SWS/S&M"). I did that to help some people some times ago in a random thread: http://forum.cockos.com/showpost.php?p=396251, this is the correct place
- actions no more supported, something changed in reaper since they were made as explained here: http://forum.cockos.com/showpost.php...2&postcount=29
note: floating fx & fx chain window actions will be updated soon (new API for that, thanks Cockos!). Better solution + OSX support!

I have a bug report.....
SWS Project Management
Open new, empty project
File/SWS Project Management
Click Add related project(s)
Try to close (or Cancel) that window and either get crash and exit, BSOD or freeze depending on audio driver selected.

New action "Go to end of project, including markers/regions"
Thanks Tim! That should work for a macro I need.

I have made a 'track list' button to show the SWS tracklist. Is it possible to change the action to become a toggle? So that pressing the button again hides the tracklist? Or the button stays pressed when the tracklist is visible?
thanks

Right now the "Show tracklist" action behaves just as the Cockos "show" actions do: If the window is closed, it opens it. If the window is open and focused, it closes it. If the window is opened, but doesn't have focus (or is docked but not visible), it focuses the window. The state of the button reflects if the window is open or not.

Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense. But it doesn't close the window when it has focus.
I forgot to mentioned I used this: Show SWS tracklist with filter focused
Maybe I have to use the plain 'Show SWS tracklist'?

Yes, "Show tracklist with filter focused" by design never closes the tracklist. The plain "Show SWS Tracklist" is the one you want on your toolbar.

a short update for 2 things that have been discussed here.
Note that since the last "update" post here, many other things has been done!! Don't forget to check out: http://www.standingwaterstudios.com/new.php
(random ex: Padre added fade in/out enveloppe processor, I added some actions for cut/copy/paste (original) sends/receives/both, fingers added some item rate actions but it's finally the boss (Tim) who managed to get the girls with cool new options in the marker list )
____
Ok, so as discussed some pages before, I added a little dockable view for FX chains management (and related S&M actions):
I don't think it deserve a place in REAPER's main menu > View, so I didn't put it there but you can customize your menu if you think so.
[EDIT] the related action is "SWS/S&M Open FX chains window"
Also, about FX Chain and floating FX windows, I added some actions that should cover many requests I seen here and there... with those that already exist, I hope you'll have a good macro time
Updated all existing floating FX and FX chain window actions with new APIs => OSX support
=> Requires REAPER v3.45!
Added floating FX and FX chain windows actions:
notes: "(!)" when the action can open a bunch of stuff..
+ SWS/S&M: Show all FX chain windows (!)
+ SWS/S&M: Toggle show all floating FX windows (!)
+ SWS/S&M: Show all floating FX windows (!)
+ SWS/S&M: Show all floating FX windows for selected track(s)
+ SWS/S&M: Close all floating FX windows, except focused one
+ SWS/S&M: Close all floating FX windows for selected track(s)
+ SWS/S&M: Toggle show all floating FX windows for selected track(s)
For Alt-tabish switch between opened or focused FX windows:
+ SWS/S&M: Show previous floating FX window (and close others) for selected track(s)
+ SWS/S&M: Show next floating FX window (and close others) for selected track(s)
+ SWS/S&M: Focus previous floating FX window for selected track(s)
+ SWS/S&M: Focus next floating FX window for selected track(s)
+ SWS/S&M: Focus previous floating FX window
+ SWS/S&M: Focus next floating FX window
Last edited by Jeffos; 04-29-2010 at 12:03 AM.
Reason: the related action is "SWS/S&M Open FX chains window"

Hey Tim,
may I post a little FR here (if it has not been implemented in any recent updates):
actions to go to first and last marker in project (location dependent, not serialization) btw, is it possible yet to go to a marker with certain label? Similar to track filtering.

Hi Eric-
In the arrange pane, you can press "J" (View: Jump to time window), then type an opening quote followed by the Marker name (which can be partial, BTW). Does that help?
A Marker List filter would be nice, though.

Great stuff. Testing it a lot now.
One aspect you may wish to change, is that the "Load Slot" commands file requester should default to the FX Chains directory of the current user. And of course there is still the matter of drag'n'dropping fx chains from and too that FX chains window. That would make creating and using them even more useful.
Love to have it dockable, but it does not appear in the View menu like the other SWS windows do.
Keep up the great work. This has already given us so much.

Thanks Susan,
but my application requires a list of user defined actions like "chorus 1", "bridge 1",
"start", "end", so I can put them in shortcuts for quick access. This would enable me
to create my own location system and different functions/macros I regularly use
without the need to write (filter) them each time, take care about number order, etc.
Yeah, technology makes us fulfill our lazy nature.
