Touchscreen mixer
I've been looking at stuff like the Softube Console Fader recently, but was thinking that I could have a second screen for cheaper to dedicate to the mixer, touch control, more faders, Anyone else doing this?

Yes, I use a HP2760p with touchscreen for live performance. So I control the mixer and VST, without the need for too many hardware controllers.
Still, sometimes I am happy to have a pen to browse files, but never use a mouse with this setup.
This works quite well, but precision is not as high as with a hardware fader, just because the input data is relative to the resolution of coordinates on the displayed screen area.

Yeah, I was thinking one of these...
https://www.ebuyer.com/751120-hannsp...nitor-ht225hpb
Dedicated to the mixer, so if that's faders only, the height of the faders would be about 11 inches so should be good resolution. I know stuff like drawing automation would be awkward as your using the end of a podgy finger, rather than a pixel precision mouse, which was which I was thinking jutfor mixing. And, it doesn't matter where about you touch a fader, it'll move relative to where you first touch it.
Cheaper than a softube fader, more faders and useful for other stuff

Ok, with such a big screen I think the podgy finger problen is less relevant.
Actually, I use this 12 inch touchscreen for controls, so is a page of mixer, a page of each VSTi, not everything on the same screen at the same time. I think that would actually be unusable in a live setting.
Have you seen the Huion GT-220 V2 or the XP-Pen Artist display 22 Pro or similar? They have in addition to multitouch a pen digitizer, which I find extremely useful when editing.

So, it seems Reapers mixer isn't multitouch enabled
Wonder if this could be done with the remote web interface, anyone know if that would work with multitouch?

Hmm I think yo would want to move multiple faders at the same time. AFAIK, Reaper does not support multi-touch ...

Oh, I am sorry. Thought the new screen models still have the multitouch, but actually do not! Sorry.
Looks like there is only Wacom still having that feature, at Wacom price.
Yes, the Reaper mixer does not work with multitouch. but you can link faders.
The VST windows do work with multitouch, if the VST itself can handle that, and it is possible to tweak multiple knobs or triggers simultaneously.

Mm yeah, looks like I might have to give up on the idea. No multitouch is a big deal. I tried via the Web browser interface just in case, but no multitouch there either

AFAIK, the VSTs do their GUI on themselves, hence Reaper is not even involved in that.
No idea about multiple VST windows simultaneously.

That should be doable (via OSC) .

Ah thanks, had a look around. Seems a lot of options with mobile apps, not so many for windows. Found OpenStage Control that has ThrashJazzAssassin's template and hi computer's Chameleon, which looks like it has a nice editor.

Is OSC bi-directional, can you get track names/meters?

really, no multitouch support for Reaper? That is kinda lame....I'm sure there's a feature request for it, I'll have to +1 that
