Hi everybody! Been a while since I've needed to ask for help on here.
So I have some amp sim plugs, all from Plugin Alliance. They all exhibit the same problem.
The VST2.4 versions of these plugs work fine, but when I install the VST3 versions and load them up in Reaper, they will pass no sound. Nothing.
This happened a while ago when I first bought my first amp sim from this developer, but I was so eager to use the amp I just installed the VST2 version and rocked out and forgot about the VST3 problem. Recently I bought a new amp sim from them and when it exhibited the same problem I remembered that they had all done it. I updated all of them to their newest versions and tested them and all but one still had the problem (and I don't remember if the odd one out had the problem from the start or not).
I contacted their tech support and today I received this:
"Thank you for contacting support and I am happy to help you.
I am not able to reproduce this on my end and we have determined that this is not our bug quite some time ago. Perhaps there are threads discussing this issue on Reapers FAQ´s page or so."
Gee, thanks guys.
So here I am. Anybody run into something like this before? If so, how did you fix it? I'd really appreciate any info anyone has to share.
This is a Windows 7 64 bit PC, and I'm on Reaper 5.963 (don't remember if my license expires at 5.99 so I'm holding off on 6 for right now).
Thanks guys and gals!
EDIT: By the way, and I have no idea if this is relevant or if it may be some kind of clue or anything, but I noticed that none of my personal presets I made in the VST2 version were there when I tested the VST3 version. The one amp where the VST3 version worked, my 2.4 presets showed up in the VST3 versions' drop down menu like normal. So it seems that when both versions work the presets are shared between them, and when the VST3 version doesn't work it seems to load up blank.
