Default Songwriting Tools like Cubase

What I really like to see in Reaper, would be Songwriting Tools like those in Cubase.

Many of us would like to see that implemented. There are some thought, who don't understand that.

In several moments someone will come over that will tell you that there is a ways around that, which is most of the time waste of time anyway, but because seeing what I just wrote they might either get on my back, or withdraw from responding completely

the codefn42 is much better developed and interactive as well - they have a bunch of utilities that are worth exploring

The term "Songwriters Tools" in that post is highly exaggerated IMHO;

Cause, bottom line of that Cubase Chord Track functionality is:

1) You can very easy create (complex) Chord progressions (Can be done in Reaper also).
2) You can choose (midi) Tracks, which you want to follow this chord progression.
So, notes played in those midi tracks will be "quantized" to the notes of the chords in the Chord Track.

A tip of the Sleeve:
http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=141664

Without explaining this further, (i am too lazy right now, sorry), both features can be established in Reaper, be it natively and/or with the help of script(s).

Yeah, sorry for this being a nonsense post.
Just want to clear out that Cubase's Chord Track isn't as unique and holy as many people think.
Everything can be done in Reaper ; also Chord Track functionality-alike.
Maybe needed workflow in Reaper is abit more cumbersome than in Cubase, but ala, so be it.

No, sorry to say, but that solution is rather offtopic.

chord track in reaper can be done in reaper. ive done it, but it does take some preparation. and yes there is no dedicated feature or scripted gui for such a task. So, hey, you can start developing one and/or get someone to help you develop a cool script for such a workflow.

I'm perplexed. How can you be amused at someone's sadness for apologetic sentiments?

I wish the devs didn't close the tracker, there we could at least get an estimate of how popular a certain request was. Chord track may be cool but if you ask me, between the chord track and lockable track height I'd choose track height any day. To say nothing about the Cancel button on the splash screen.

Meanwhile, have a look at this revolutionary Reascript:

Definitely a great support in songwriting, if you ask me :0)
