Anyone had any joy with Arturia plugins in Reaper 5.99?

Put simply, the VST3 versions of Arturia plugins will not load in Reaper 5.99 or Voltage Modular 2.3.4. Pain in the backside but not so unusual as VST3 is still a bit flakey with a few plugin developers. But why are the VST2 version's not loading within Reaper 5.99 when they load fine in Voltage Modular Standalone?

The incomplete VST2 details ("strings"?) within the reaper-vstplugins.64.ini file would seem to indicate a problem somewhere with Reaper collecting the info for the Arturia VST2 versions. Anyone have any ideas why there might be these incomplete "strings".

The long winded details:-

The VST3 versions load in Reaper 5.99 with a blank white GUI and no parameters.

The VST2 versions are not actually listed within Reaper's FX Browser. As you can see, the VST2 details within the reaper-vstplugins.64.ini file are incomplete, which would explain the VST2 versions then not being listed within Reaper's FX Browser.

The only way I can use any of these Arturia plugins within Reaper V5.99 is to load the Arturia VST2 plugins in Voltage Modular's Plugin Host within Reaper.

Voltage Modular Standalone will load the Arturia VST2 plugins in it's Voltage Modular's Plugin Host.

The Arturia VST3 versions will not load within Voltage Modular Standalone or the plugin version.

My Arturia stuff works just fine. I am currently using the Arturia Software Center to install & update/upgrade my stuff.
Assuming you are using the software center, I am wondering what it is showing as the current location(s) for your softs. This could well be the issue if they are located wrongly for reaper to find.
Try re-installing after thoroughly UN-installing them & then do a full clear/rescan in Reaper`s VST location window.

Hi ivansc.

Reaper is finding the plugins because they are added to the reaper-vstplugins.64.ini file. The Arturia plugins are located in one of Reaper's VST plugin paths. All the other plugins in this path load fine in Reaper.

I do re-install after thoroughly UN-installing them. I spent 8 hours checking online for details of the location of Arturia's installation folders, how best to uninstall the Arturia plugins and Software Centre, trying different plugin installation methods - using the Software Centre's default silent install, disabling the Software Centre's silent install and choosing to just install the VST2 or VST3 versions. I tried installing just one plugin rather than the whole bundle. These are full (non-demo) versions and are activated Arturia plugins (the VST2 versions load fine in Voltage Modular, which indicates no problem with the VST2 install).

I do a full clear/rescan. I make sure and delete any previous lines in the vstplugins.64.ini file that contain strings for the plugins I am installing and/or need Reaper to rescan for. The VST2 strings are incomplete in the vstplugins.64.ini file (as copied and pasted into my first post on this thread). As you can see, they only include half the string and no developers name. So, I also did a search through the reaper-vstplugins.64.ini file using the Arturia plugins' individual names, rather than searching using "Arturia", to see if I had missed any lines referring to previous installs which I may need to delete because they may be affecting Reaper scanning of new plugins.

The VST2 versions work fine in Voltage Modular. I have just searched and found Voltage Modular users have confirmed a JUICE related issue with Voltage Modular and Arturia VST3 plugins which would explain the Arturia VST3 versions not currently working for me in Voltage Modular.

The problem seems, to me, to be with my vstplugins.64.ini file only including half the string and no developers name for the Arturia VST2 plugins. I also notice the first half of the VST3 strings match the VST2 strings (as pasted above). I checked through the Plugin Alliance plugins and AngelicVibes listed in my vstplugins.64.ini file and I could see that their VST3 strings did not match the VST2 strings in this way.

Does Reaper 5.99 have an issue with the way VST2 or VST3 Arturia plugins are "formatted" (for wanting of a better word) so cannot scan them properly?

Could users copy and paste, on this thread, all the Arturia plugin lines in their vstplugins.64.ini file (or equivalent .ini file), please mention any issues and let me know which operating system and version number of Reaper and Arturia plugins you are using?

Sorry I missed the part about you being on 5.99 - I am on 6.42!

This DOES seem more like an Arturia related issue though, doesn`t it? What have they had to say about it ?

I haven't been in contact with Arturia yet. I really want to see how other Windows 10 + Reaper 5.99 users (and, for that matter, Reaper 6 users) are doing with Arturia plugins.

Even though you are using 6.42, could you copy and paste, on this thread, all the Arturia plugin lines in your vstplugins.64.ini file (or equivalent .ini file).

It would be interesting to see the lines (strings?) for Arturia plugins in other Reaper user's .ini files. It might help me narrow down the issue.
