Changing the meters is one of the easier tweaks to do to a theme. Unzip the current theme. Unzip the theme that has the meter colors you want and swap the png files.

Thanks, it really is a lot of work. In the next few days I will post an update that improves the contrast on the colored background panels. Also, some other graphics will be improved.

No, not at the moment. I might look for another solution. Patreon or something. Let's see.

I might have missed it but do you have a PayPal link? I'd like to offer a small token of my appreciation for such outstanding work.
(Apologies if this post has crossed with others. I hadn't read them all).

Unable to import i file
I downlaoded the zip file and tried to drag it into the REAPER window and got the error "unable to import 1 file."
Did I do something wrong?
BTW, love your theme.
Thx!

Yes, you are doing something wrong. Try double-clicking on the file instead, that should work too.

Hey, fantastic theme.
If I may add one suggestion (unless I missed it), there's no numbers on the individual track meters on the left and if that's easy to do it would be cool.

Unfortunately, you can only do this properly for static meters (which do not change their size). But if there are mainly dynamic meter sizes (like the master meter) in the layouts, you can't add proper numbering to the left side of the meter because that numbering would be an image file that compresses and expands with the dynamic meter and the numbering can become ugly and illegible as a result. So it is easier to show the numbering from the meter itself, because it adjusts with the dynamic meter. This numbering of the meter itself is always centered in the meter.

Hello Mawi
How did you get the layout to change when the track is selected? I've been examining your WALTER, to try and understand it, but to no avail. I would really love to be able to do this in my own theme.
Thanks.

Hi there folks,
This might be a stupid question but so far I haven't found an answer.
That's why I'm bothering you.
Let's say I've been using Echolot 1.8, done a lot of tweaking, etc. Of course, I've saved my version of the theme (my tweaks).
Now I want to update to Echolot 1.10. I do that, I load my tweaks file but the theme comes back to Echolot 1.8.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to update theme without losing all the tweaks? (keeping them)
Thanks as always!

I'm not sure either, I would just load the v1.10 theme and redo/copy all my customizations.

There are lines about the color theme tweaker parameters in the reaper.ini. file.
But for which theme? Default?
Where are those parameters saved for each individual theme?
Not in the rtconfig-file as much I know.

stupid me, please forget my previous post.
Logically, the theme tweaker-colors are saved in the Theme-Textfile sitting in the Zip.
So modifying this by copy/paste its values or change the image-folder in the textfile would do the trick I guess.
There are infos on the forum how to unpack a themeZIP.

You can do that yourself. Unzip the theme, locate the .png files used for those two elements and use a freeware program like paint.net to change the colors.

Hi mawi, I've been using your theme for a while now, so I actually came here to look for the donation link. Hopefully you get that working soon
I've been using an older modded version, but these colored track backgrounds have turned out great and really have me jealous...
Anyway, I guess there's 2 things I've been wanting to ask you.
1. Why do you prefer "peaksedges 3080" over the default 0? Seems really pixely to me.
2. Have you read this thread? It's really easy to imlement and you can avoid using extra layouts for options like +FX scrollbar or + no width knob.
For example:

Hello FeedTheCat,
I didn't plan the colored backgrounds at first and it was a lot of work to implement that afterwards, because I had to recreate almost all buttons with tranparent values. But the work was worth it.
Re 1: I feel like my waveform representation is clearer and not glossed over as much.
Re 2: Your link doesn't work. I assume it is about the theme adjuster. I am of the opinion that I am more flexible with layouts. I can use different layouts at the same time, which is not possible with the Theme Adjuster as far as I know, but is always a global setting. Unfortunately I'm not a programmer and it would be very time-consuming for me to implement such functions. To be honest, I have no desire to do so.

Yes, I updated the link. It's much much easier than you'd expect. You only have to add one line of walter at the top of the rtconfig. Then you can use a custom user value in your walter like "?myuservalue" (exactly like "?recarm").

HI thanks for the response, this is all very new to me, how do Figure out, from the unzipped file, what the element is called that I want to modify?
sorry if that question is overly broad!

edit the rtconfig.
set trans.rate [0]
That will tell WALTER not to draw the rate stuff.

Thanks for posting this theme. I am enjoying trying it out.
One question... on other themes you can drag the top of the MCP area below the inserts and sends to make the column taller. I cannot seem to do so on this them but might like to do so.
Is there an rtconfig tweak that would allow this ?
