Default Change Reaper Icon in taskbar?

Is it possible to change the reaper icon on the taskbar for windows? I downloaded some reaper icons I like that work for the shortcut but I can't seem to find how to change it on the taskbar. is there a certain file in the Reaper folder I need to replace? If so, where would it be?

To change any Win taskbar icon:
1. R click on the icon
2. R click again on the app name (Reaper x64)
3. In the dialog, click 'Properties'
4. In the properties window click the 'Change Icon' button
5. Select one of the icons that are packed into the .exe
-or-
6. Click the browse button and navigate to your custom icon. (.ico, .dll or .exe)

I occasionally do the same on Mac, however its overwritten on every update. Would love to be able to set a different icon somewhere in the settings (if its at all possible)

When you install new versions
of REAPER, untick add menu
items / shortcuts.
You are reinstalling new shortcuts over old ones;
thats why the icons change.
No need to install these
items every time.

Where's this option? On Mac you just overwrite the app with the new version. No installation process.

Sorry my instructions were
for Win.
I know there is more than one
way to install apps on MacOS,
but I am not too experienced
here. I know you can:
Finder>Apps>Right click app icon>
get info>
You should be able to change
or roll back from here.

Yeah that's what I do today, but when a new update happens, it will overwrite whatever icon you've set. But thanks anyway

Default Change Reaper Taskbar Icon on Mac

For those with a Mac still trying to do this, I found creating an alias with the desired taskbar icon that points to Reaper works and should not be affected by Reaper updating. If you move that alias to the taskbar and then open from there, it will provide the same experience as changing the icon.

To be complete, here are the steps I took:
1. Converted the desired icon image to an .icns file (converters available online) and named it main-mac.icns.
2. Opened the Applications folder and right-clicked on Reaper and selected "Show Package Contents" from the right-click menu.
3. In the Reaper package folder that opens, I found main-mac.icns and changed the name to main-mac-ORIGINAL.icns (in case I need it for some reason).
4. Moved the new icon that we previously named main-mac.icns to that package folder.
5. After closing the package folder, going back to the Applications folder, right-clicking on the reaper App provides the option to create an alias. Click that. That creates an alias that has the new icon.
6. Move that alias to the taskbar.
7. Always open Reaper from that alias and it will work as the new icon.
