Noob ? Regarding VLC
Wasn’t sure if I should post in the newb section or not but it’s video related so I’ll keep it here. I am working on my first video in reaper. I use an old Mac and previously did my video editing on my iPad but reaper is more fun so I’m trying it out for my yearly home movie I make for my kids. I got about halfway into the video and realized the stuttering video was making it very hard to do transitions and edits. I separate and ignore audio on the tracks. I did some digging and kept hearing about downloading VLC. I realized I had it from years ago already on my machine. But then someone said to download the current version, which brings me to my actual question. Do I need to re-import all those videos from when I had the older version of VLC? Or does it use VLC in real time so those videos are fine to keep as is? I know nothing about this stuff so, like Michael Scott said, “explain it to me as if I was 5”. Appreciate any insight or assistance. Thanks…

Don't worry, you will not need to re-import.
