EMU 1820M works pretty well, but back at version 1.3 (I think) I started experiencing dropouts at low latency. (Low enough to comfortably use guitar rig and BFD live) Don't know if it's BFD , but it seems to be all plugins.

The good old Yamaha DSPfactory ds2416 seems to be running just fine with Reaper, as is my Terratec DMX6Fire. I had some strange pitch issues with the DSPfactory (digitally slaved to a spdif clockmaster) a few versions back (1.2something), but now everything is a-OK.
DSPfactory for tracking because of the fixed latency of 512 samples at 44kHz, DMX6Fire for low latency VSTi playing. Haven't had problems lately

Hi there,

I'm using the TerraTec x24FW (FireWire) and it works perfectly with reaper. I can get the latency down to about 6 to 9ms. The drivers are real good, never had any problems at all. Included digital mixer is simple and functional.

Recommended for a mobile low-budget (~400$) studio, the 2 pre-amps and DAC sound excellent for what you pay. Couldn't be happier with it.

peace.

Just did my first session with Reaper and a PreSonus Firepod. Worked flawlessly. No tweaking needed. I'm up to 22 tracks and everything is still totally rad.

Just bought reaper. Updated n-track to 24 bit and had to re-boot anytime I changed recording input settings. PITA.

Echo Indigo IO PCI works great with reaper on my under-powered laptop. Only 256ram and 1.7cpu. Can't live monitor. Too much latency, but I am able to use ASIO @512/1024 sample rate.

Maybe someone will answer a question here. In n-track, the buffering preferences had no effect when using ASIO. All settings were through the soundcard settings. Is it the same for reaper or will changing buffer settings in preferences alter things?

PEACE

Default RME digi 32/8 does not work with Reaper

The digi 32/8 uses the digi96 driver. I downloded the last version.
Does not work with Reaper. Work ok with Samplitude with WDM driver.

Behringer FCA202

8ms, nice sounds

Had a lot of trouble getting it working but on a clean WinXP Home installation it works just fine.

Hello, first post.

I've been playing around with Reaper using my Tascam FW1082 tonight (firewire interface and control surface). It works fine (in Mackie Control mode) although it doesn't look like I can allocate any of the function keys. But faders, transport, jog wheel, pan/eq controls, mute/solo buttons etc. all work just fine.

One small thing, if I close Reaper when tracks are armed, the Rec lights on the tascam for those tracks will stay lit even when reaper is closed. The only way to switch these off is to restart the Tascam or open up the project in reaper and disarm the tracks. No biggy though really.

I haven't done any extensive work yet but first impressions are promising. And I'm liking Reaper, I might be moving away from Cubase once I've given it a proper trial.

edit: also the touch sensitivity of the faders doesn't seem to work, ie. when you touch the fader that track isn't auto selected (although the fader still works to adjust the level).

MYKERINOS ASIO DRIVERS-- NOT WORKING WELL

I also have an edirol ua-1000, works okay, but I'd much rather be able to use the mykerinos cards... especially in terms of power...

Works great! Lowest latency of any DAW package I've tried. Down to 32 samples ( < 1ms).
Enable the option for low latency hardware (RME) in the device options

Chiming in after PhillipK here- the Terratec EWS 88MT, with the latest "Phase 88" drivers from the Terratec site, is running smoothly here with v 1.8x. Very happy with it.

i88x works great accept for the buffer resize issue as discussed in other posts.

Flawlessly records 8 tracks of 96k/24bit at low latency at once.

Default Tascam FW 1884 - Working

It's a control surface, but handles all the audio too.

r. vers. 1.808 just stereo output
r. vers. 1.809 control surface working, no lights, and zero off
r. vers. 1.810 Everything lights up and works perfectly!!

(except EQ, the unit has a modifier key to enter that doesn't register, which also seems to keep it from showing in the "Learn" sec.) who cares though... the mouse wheel omni adjust in reaper is like having a cntl. surface in yer hand!

My comp's dead, n' I'm broke, so I'm runnin' a borrowed 700Mhz lappy, and easily getting 12 trks w/a number of FX and channel routing!! so I can't complain.
