Yeah, tried that and couldn't quite work out where it fitted into the scheme of things. At the time I was having the problem reported earlier with vsti, since solved, but thought that Phrazer was involved so deleted it again.

I like the key splits functionality among other things. And well, the current (free) download of Phrazor provides more or less the same functions that people who buy NI's new KORE pay 500 dollars for.
But yes, it is essentially very useful for live performances and not a must have for recording.

Not free - $49US - but the "Acon Studio Necessities" plugin pack looks a good simple-but-effective companion to Reaper - http://www.acondigital.com/us_StudioNecessities.html has details.

Cheers, I must have that one somewhere but forgot about it... I record all concerts with an MS pair (Sennheiser MKH series) and normally use a hardware MS mic preamp, but sometimes now use them straight into the Motu Traveler, and thus need a decoder for monitoring. Also that vst is handy for adding extra width and natural reverb to a stereo recording lacking 'life'.

Yes, good eye, Pipe!

We had been discussing this earlier, and this looks like what we wanted.

http://mdsp.smartelectronix.com/mstools/ has a whole slew of ms-related stuff - of course it could have been mentioned already three times above! - haven't checked...

Hey - just out via KVR - Karma 32 band reverb with loads of cool features - donationware - very nice addition to Reaper! http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1927.html - must-have download!

Features:

On/off switch (at left above first fader)
Lo/mid/high/full range selectors (to right of display) which enable you to stack several instances for 96 total bands!
6/12/24db range selector at top right
Mix and gain controls for total effect control
Display shows precise values when adjusting faders
Reset button to right of faders
Various presets supplied.

Heck, that's a nice piece of work for the money.

SSL Listen-Back Compressor
Phase-Bug (for adjusting phase alignment, great for multi-mic'ed bass and guitar amps, also drums) hmm, can't find a link to it anymore...

The SSL LMC works well for parallel compression, but honestly, not much else.

Default My Plugs

Am I allowed to use this free plugin thread to plug my free plugins..? They could use a free plug.

I just uploaded a few things that might interest some of you. Have a look here...

http://asia.geocities.com/andywanders/

It's Geocities so sometimes it's a bit slow.

I just got hooked on REAPER too.

Default Sample Trigger

I just started using Jesusonic a few days ago and made this script, it's rather crude and samples need to be the same sample rate as project and they need to be stereo and not too long (though I had success with 4 second long samples!) here's the code, you can copy and paste as a new effect, make a directory in "data" folder and throw samples in. Also note changing samples during playback doesn't work too well. Again, rather crude, but it works and have used it in a few songs already (saved me from having to load up Logic to do this exact thing)...

desc: Simple Sample Trigger (mono)
slider1:/samples:none:Sample
slider2:-6<-30,0,0.5>threshold (db)
slider3:150<0,300,10>release time (ms)

@init
releaseCount = 0;
samplePos = 0;

@slider
thresh = 2 ^ (slider2/6);
releaseTime = slider3 * srate / 1000;
lastslider1 != (slider1|0) ? (
lastslider1=slider1|0;
filehandle = file_open(slider1);
sample_len = sample_nch = sample_srate = 0;
filehandle > 0 ? (
file_riff(filehandle, sample_nch, sample_srate);
sample_nch ? (
sample_len = file_avail(filehandle)/sample_nch;
file_mem(filehandle, sample, sample_len * sample_nch);
samplePos = sample_len;
);
file_close(filehandle);
);
);

@sample

overThresh = (abs(spl0) > thresh) || (abs(spl1) > thresh);
overThresh && !releasing ? (
samplePos = 0;
releaseCount = 0;
releasing = 1;
);

spl0 = sample[samplePos*2];
spl1 = sample[samplePos*2]; // how do we do stereo?
samplePos += 1;
(releaseCount += 1) > releaseTime ? releasing = 0;

For those wondering, I only use this type of thing for adding kick samples to poorly recorded kick drum tracks, for layering up sounds, not replacing 100%. For that this meets my needs. Sorry if it's rubbish, just thought maybe someone might also find it useful.

Are you using this with the full version of Jesusonic, or the one that ships with REAPER?

The one that ships with it. I don't know about the full version. You can copy and past this into a text file (extension doesn't matter) and place it in the "Effects" folder in reaper, then in reaper it shows up as a plugin like anything else.

As we're talking a lot of Jesusonic efx (and as Justin is working on the plugins) : i have one request : tempo-sync for the delay with bit-reduction (and every plugin that could be tempo-synced : modulation, classic delay, multi-tap, etc.)

Thanks for the tip. I tried Google but it took an age to upload then the links didn't work. So what I did was put the whole lot into one zip file (just over 6mb) and post it on Rapidshare. Here's the link...

Let me know what you think of 'em.

"Prodyspace is a new kind of 4d-Panner which has been designed to put Instruments within a mix to the front or to the back. To achieve this effect, the Prodyspace uses delay-modulation (kind of spatial processing), intelligent filtering and very short reverberation
Not only you can place sounds in the left or right within a mix, now it´s even possible to place them in the front or back of a mix. This allows easy working with all types of sound sources. The Prodyspace has been designed to make it easier working with instruments that are different to mix. Now, mixing Instruments is a breeze!"

Works very well, imo, for room simulation. Left in the back of the room there's your bassist freaking, far to his right the drummer is going nuts, the guitarist is moving to the front playing slide with a bottle of Smirnoff and to his left the singer is shouting to shut the fuck up -

http://www.prodyon.de/prodyspace.htm

... but it will also bring a string quartet to life

its actually a vsti, but it is a perfect emulation of NES sounds, with aLOT of flexibility.

Very good free plugins by a clever guy:

Be sure to check the endorphin (a dual-band stereo compressor) and the dominion (a signal modelling device)
