Default [Rock] Trip Down South

This is the first song from our upcoming album. It was actually a one-take performance on this one. So, two guitars and drums all in one room without click or headphones.

Bass and voice were recorded afterwards.

This is the very first mix, so there will definitely changes be made. But tell me, is the direction ok? After listening to it again I will like it could be a bit more natural...

The dynamics are fine at around -14 LUFS, but listening to reference tracks it all seems a bit artificially sounding in my mix.

Interesting. I feel a mix of 70's progressive rock and a garage band one in the way of Jack White.

How did you make the voice sound like that ? One track with natural sound and another one with megaphone equialization + much compression and a bit of overdrive ?

Well that was not a pop song
I agree with benf on the 70's feel.
Like it.

Thanks, guys. Glad you like it.
I am currently looking at some references like Queens Of The Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam...
The drums on those records are huuuuge! I wonder how I could get a drum sound like that in my mix without sounding all muddy...
