'Voting Song'
My first official music video - shot with cell phone, and done completely in Reaper, except for using Handbrake to convert the final cut to .mp4
As the name hints, it could be considered political, if being against evil is political...
Hope you like it!

Very entertaining track PK, got a cool swagger to it. I dig that slide playing as well, all sounds really good, cheers.

Wow, you are a multi-instrumentalist, well done!
Can I borrow your vocals? Because you really have a nice voice, also as backing choir. I think you can do more with it. Often the vocals are doubled, even in the verses. You may try to experiment with that. It will make your vocals shine even more.

Wow, thanks for all the feedback!
Slide guitar: I picked it up a few years ago while recovering from an operation on my left wrist (they took out one row of bones; a radial carpectomy). it was the only way I could play guitar for about 4 months.
Vocals: After doing 3 or 4 songs recently with lots of vocal layering, I wanted to return to something simpler and less cluttered to present this song.
You're welcome to borrow my voice any time.

I in fact have no plan regarding this kind of music at all, but is that mouth organ really supposed to sound that dull ?

Michael,
The harmonica was intentionally dulled down and given a fairly heavy reverb because I prefer that sound. I find their natural unprocessed tone to be brash, sibilant and harsh. And that works for some material, like a mostly acoustical track. In an electric mix it's a bit too much.
Thanks for listening and for your feedback!

It's not so much being against evil as it is how you classify something as evil. Evil based on actions is one thing, evil based on ones beliefs is a different matter.
Classifying people as evil gives you license to deny them their basic human rights. I think that's something everyone should be very careful about doing.
Great video, great song, big blues fan here. Any chance you might be interested in collaborating online on a blues project? I've got a drop box account we can use to upload files.

I think you did a great job on this Philbo, all the way around. Yeah, the mix could use some work, but the sound track is still good, and the performance along with the video are very good.
Hat's off.

It's Regal Duolian, which (I think) is a Korean knockoff of the real thing. I'm not positive; I bought it used. It's one of my favorite instruments.

My opinion, of course, but to me kidnapping toddlers and locking them in dog cages qualifies as evil...
I'd be happy to collaborate - if you have song ideas that you'd like me to contribute to, I'd be happy to lay down some tracks for you. Right now I'm doing roughly one new original song a week, and recording 3 to 5 a week of other peoples stuff. Plus I'm travelling to do gigs sometimes - next month I have a couple in the Mississippi delta down south. So there might be times when it'll take a bit of time for me to respond.

Thanks Tod! Glad you liked it.
I did feel the piano level was a bit too hot. Overall, I was pretty happy with how it came out.
My 10 year old 4 core Celeron PC was choking on it quite a bit; I shouldn't have tried to do video compositing and audio tracking/mixing all in one project. To render the 5 minutes of video & audio uncompressed took a couple hours. One of many lessons learned while doing this...

Cool, no rush timewise, send me your email in a PM or something and I'll get with you and we can work out the details.
Thinking something simple for now, 1,4,5 12 bar blues, see what we can come up with.
