What recommendations do folks have regarding the best drum plug in to use with Reaper?:

Hi & welcome to the forums!

I beta test for one company but have a TON of different Drum rompler plugins.
They all have their uses.

I am of course biased toward Toontracks EZDeummer and Superior Drummer, but to get you started, MT PowerDrums2 used to be a commercial product, is still maintained by the developer and is a FREE download!

Next free one to look at would be Sennheiser`s DrumMic`a which is actually a full instrument for Kontakt, which means you can use it in the Native Instruments Kontakt Player, which is also free.

Go to the Sennheiser site first and get yourself sorted out there before you download the free kontakt player.

Added bonus is that getting and registering Kontakt player AND DrumMic`a makes you eligible to buy the full Kontakt sampler for a greatly reduced price, especially if you do it during one of their semi annual sales.

And of course there is always Addictive Drums from XLN Audio, plus any number of others.

I am also a sucker for the inexpensive kits from Analogue Drums, especially their splitsticks kit.

Definitely check out the free offerings, but it would help if you gave some more information about what you want.

Any particular genres? Do you want drums that just sound good, or do you want to go into forensic detail with balancing mic's and processing them yourself?
