I haven’t figured out how to do it on the MCP with the default V6 theme...

Do you mean like this?
If yes, then you need to edit 2 files:
mcp_volbg.png
meter_bg_mcp.png
unfortunately, this causes issues for 'Narrow Mode', since 'Narrow' is a mode of the main layout and not a separate layout.
Because of this, you will also need to:
1) create a new layout and point it to a new sub folder containing the altered PNG files.
2) turn off Narrow Mode in the new layout.
Please note that I didn't test all modes, so additional modes will need to be check and turned off if there are issues.

Thanks again! I figured out how to cut a hole in the space-time continuum (mcp_volbg.png / meter_bg_mcp.png) but my hack is exposed at minimum MCP height! Oh well, was worth a shot B)

odd, it's working for me:
try downloading and unzipping the Zip file attached to this post.
drop the unpacked "custom" folder into the main image folder for the default theme.
add the following code just before the " Layout "150%_A" layout:
Code:
Layout "Dragstrip A" "custom"
set narrowMode 0
drawMcp 1
set mcp.label .
EndLayout

Lucas,
I didn't try your (generously offered) option yet. I love the layout name!
I'm only using 200% even though my monitors are not HiDPI (my laptop is 1366 x 768). I don't need a lot of tracks and like everything big and crisp...
Here's my predicament:
Image A
TCP
- Track 1 - Is OK with fader @ 0 dB
- Track 2 - The front of the fader is off the colored slot @ (max) +8 dB
- Track 3 - The back of the fader is off the colored slot @ (min) -inf dB
MCP (*minimum height in my tweaked V6 default theme)
- Track 1 - The front of the fader is off the colored slot @ 0 dB
- Track 2 - The front of the fader is off the colored slot @ (max) +8 dB
- Track 3 - The back of the fader is off the colored slot @ (min) -inf dB
Image B
MCP (*maximum height (laptop) in my tweaked V6 default theme)
- Track 1 - Is OK with fader @ 0 dB
- Track 2 - The front of the fader is off the colored slot @ (max) +8 dB
- Track 3 - The back of the fader is off the colored slot @ (min) -inf dB
*So, I guess my question would be... Can the slot lines be elongated a little (at the top and bottom) without increasing the throw of the faders?
I don't want you to waste your time on this... I'm sure you've got bigger fish to fry! B)

Yes, but I suggest you try adjusting the pink lines on the fader file instead.
Example:
I've attached the mcp_volthumb.png used in the example above so you can compare it with the default image to see what changes were made.

Thanks, you are too cool! I didn’t think of that... I was ready to throw in the towel B)
Will give that a shot...

Lucas,
I tried messing with the pink lines with no success in the MCP. I’m using White Tie’s default 200% faders as the basis of my ‘cosmetically altered’ faders.
I’m actually OK with the way things are and it’s not something that I need for my simple workflow. This thread just reminded me of my past experiment... I don’t want to complicate things, add layouts or mess with the narrow mode.
Thanks for your time and for playing along! Always offering your help, ideas and support. You’re a great resource on this forum!

Lucas,
Let me know if you want to take a peak for yourself. I'll send you the theme. I'll never get around to releasing it anyway! Here's a variation where the non-selected track backgrounds use a default color and the selected track backgrounds get the full color treatment...

Sure, be happy to take a look, but you can try just sending me the fader first.

Here you go! I also included White Tie's Dark fader which it was based on...

BTW, I had no problem fixing the same issue in the TCP...

I took a look at it.
adjusting the pink lines on the fader causes it to turn into a knob when the layout is condensed, so it's not a solution.
Adjusting the yellow lines on the mcp_volbg.png gets it part of the way there, but also requires custom layout code with the results still not being optimal.
In other words, I don't have a quick easy fix for it.
Unfortunately, I also don't have time to explore a more in depth fix for it right now.
You might ask White Tie or xpander for ideas at this point.

Thanks for taking a look! I didn’t think there was an easy answer...
I’ll just use what I have and try to make some music!
I’m really happy with the V6 Theme / Adjuster and only modified it to see if I could...
Thanks again, You’re awesome! B)
