Media has disappeared in all my projects/tracks
Yesterday, I opened up a project in Reaper and there were no waveforms showing; then I realized two things:
1. There was actually no track where content should be...my tracks show as a single strip the full width of the program window with a normal track controls region at the left, then a long expanse of grey, then at the far right there is the Mute and Solo buttons.
2. The music plays and I can record inputs and set new tracks and playback what I record, but I can't see it.
This is not just project-specific, but global...all my projects now appear the same...no arrangement view (I think that's what it's called)
I can dock things to the right of the track region and move the edge, but can't get the actual tracks to show.
I was running Version 6.18 at the time, and tried doing an update to 6.19, and everything showed up the same.
I can't seem to find any preferences about the Arrangement View as I've seen the track info region described...help???

If it's ALL projects, I can only think that you've either inadvertently deleted the files in the peak cache folder (see Options, Preferences/ Paths) or that folder has become inaccessible for some reason...
First thing to try is to load a project then run the Action "Peaks: Rebuild all peaks"

Yes, I tried that, and all the peak files seem fine in the projects. There is actually NO track for these...the problem seems structural. If I start a new project, I can create a track that is similarly crippled, but it records fine and plays back...I just don't see anything...makes it kind of like <tape>...haha

See if you can put your mouse cursor on the right edge of what we're seeing (to the right of the Mute and Solo buttons). You might be able to drag that edge back to the left, thereby exposing your arrange view.

You can also try to run the action "View: Show TCP on right side of arrange".

Thanx for the tip...I've been trying to 'detach' the track from the edges anyway possible. I tried putting a dock on the right side, and then seeing if I could 'free' the edge.
I'm thinking about pulling my Reaper.ini file off and letting Reaper rebuild it. Do you (or anyone else seeing that) have a thought if this is safe/easy? I have all of my projects saved in a separate directory on my C:/ drive. Should I relabel that so Reaper doesn't screw something up and then repoint after a (hopefully) repair?

Right now...that shows as <ON> in the Actions window. If I click nothing seems to happen.
I don't see how to turn it off to see if cycling it will help...

If you run that action again, it will toggle. I just thought that it might allow you to find some edges that could be dragged back to where they should be.
I'm a little out of my depth, but, like you, I suspect there's something in that ini file that's mucked up. Hopefully, someone who knows more will pop in.

Got it...
I had tried moving the docker windows around the sides and the bottom, etc...and nothing worked, but (duh...) I left the mixer docked my normal place (bottom left...didn't think about it). In frustration, I turned off the docker completely and removed everything from the display except the track controls, and then was able to grab the right side and pull it from the edge of the window and reveal my arrangements. Fixing it one project seemed to fix it in ALL projects. Still don't know how it got "stuck" but at least I know what to do about it.
Thanx for the suggestions...they got me out of my "box of hopelessness" and I can get back to work!!
