shift click to select all tracks between both clicks, control click to select
specific tracks. Unless you mean marquee selection, that is not yet possible
i think.

there's no right click marquee tool "yet" (may be one soon though) but..

for both mixer and track panels, you can click on the first one, go to the last one and click whilst holding shift to select all tracks in between or you can hold control and click to add tracks to the selection.

Hope that's what your after?

I like to keep my tracks in a highly organized manner, sometimes i have to select multiple tracks, which works well with shift+click and then skip a few tracks and select a bunch more. shift click only selects one large group at a time and using command for larger groups of tracks gets tedious. being able to drag to select tracks is faster IMO even if i was only selecting one largish group of tracks, which can be done easily using shift+click, the speed of right click+drag cannot be denied.

I agree with you

for now though you can use track grouping as a way to select multiple tracks that you might want to select over and over again.

You can just group al the tracks as master volume or even master mute and they don't effect each other

you can then use the actions to select all tracks in that certain group or I think you can select one track and then use an action to selected the rest in the same group.

There is also a find function that you can use to type in the names of the track and it will select all of them (the one built in is ok but the sws extension one is much better)

Yes the compressor supports sidechaining but look up "parameter modulation" in the manual to see how using this powerful feature you can make any compressor support sidechaining not to mention a million other powerful uses!
