Default VirtualBox Linux Image for Reaper ?

I want to try a Windows VST in Reaper Linux using Carla.
The WinVST follows Reaper's play position (VstTimeInfo), will Carla handle this ? or is it just for audio fx ?

There are VirtualBox images here, a small image size would be better, whatever distro you think would do to test, thanks.

I wouldn't expect a virtual Linux to see a sound device properly, but if I were going to try, I'd use either Manjaro or Ubuntu.

That said, I have booted up on a bootable live Manjaro on USB flash drive and REAPER for Linux saw my Behringer UMC1820 and was able to play my projects just like booting from an installed version.

Thanks, I got them both but like the Manjaro one better as it's more Windows like with Add Remove Applications.
They didn't boot but it was just Enable 3D Acceleration in VirtualBox needed turning on.

Glad you figured it out. I used REAPER in Xubuntu for the last three years and just last month switched over to Manjaro.

Manjaro is more up to date is why I switched. When fixes come down the pike, Manjaro gets them a lot quicker than any of the 'buntu flavors.
