Default 10 years in the making..

This album has taken so long to make it started out in Sonar!

Pleased to say that it was completed in REAPER though (and the next one, already underway, will be a completely REAPER affair).

Anyway, with so much love and effort sunk in to it I'd be most grateful if you took the time to have a listen and let me know what you think, it's kinda epic British indie, think Nick Drake meets Belle and Sebastian, with a sprinkling of Pavement.

I listened a couple of tracks yesterday, pretty good. As a gtr player myself, thats some real nice jangly playing/sound. It's the kind of sound I've been trying for on some my current songs but I've not quite got it dialled in as good as you have there, cheers.

Thanks for listening Morgon, the guitars are probably the least fancy thing on there; Tele> Fender tube amp> sm57 and occasionally some gentle compression.

Sounds great! The male vocals remind me of Fujiya & Miyagi. Good arrangements, good dynamics/energy, excellent production. 10 years ago, this would have fit right in with what I was listening to. Love it!

Thanks for listening L Grizzle, I've not heard of Fujiya & Miyagi so I'll look them up now.

Yeah, it was a long time coming! The next one is underway already with the notion that if this one was sort of the late 70s the next one will be the early 80s (and by about 2045 we'll be making a d'n'b record!)

Didn't get to listen long but really liking the songs. I liked "Steven" quite a lot. Great job.

Edit: Like the artwork too.

Reminds me of The Byrds. Really like the electric guitar sounds, straight and fun and well played. Really like the woman singer. Fun songs. I like the way you place the sounds in the stereo sound stage, I can hear each instrument and voice without straining.

Thanks Sounchaser59, I've not had a Byrds likeness before but I guess it is quite traditional British pop.

Thanks for your comments re: stereo image, we do work hard to up a good account of ourselves from a fidelity perspective, but I have to admit that the chap who mastered it for us did an absolutely stirling job of just squeezing that last fraction of depth and spread out of it.

Cool, thanks Roost, glad you like it.

If you root around on the bandcamp pages there's another version of Stephen (an earlier mix) too.
