for my work flow can is very comfortable uses focus based actions, for example would be confortable using the M to mute a piece of item included in a time selection, or the whole item if the time selection doesn't exist or the track/selected tracks... at the same way using backspace to delete in the same way part of item, a whole item or a track/some selected tracks
