Welcome back and good riddance, all at once and said with love and positivity.
I remember when you were involved in the church, you and I talked privately for a while. We talked music, synthesizers, and life. I was so tempted to say something about the pressure and judgement that is part of any fundamentalist cult (And yes, I say cult, and I am including many of the "accepted" religions as cults). I knew, though, that at that particular time, and because how powerful that stuff is, me saying anything with intentions to help, would likely drive you deeper.

I am so glad to hear that Dannii is back and deprogrammed (or at least on the road to recovery). I am 14+ years sober, and I know that "recovery" is a path, not a destination. One day at a time is not just a cute phrase, it's a mantra and survival tool.

I am proud to know you and am glad you reached out to this community each time you needed. Isn't it funny that every time you were in a radical transition, you reached out to a "little audio forum site", and every time you were met with support. I bet that we wouldn't find that at the Avid or Cakewalk sites....

Go you!!

Welcome back Dannii! Treacherous story, it would seem fundamentalists want control over what they secretly fear.

I keep saying it but you guys are the best! Seriously, I am so thankful for all your wonderful replies and support. This forum actually means quite a lot to me and many of you have become long term friends as much as could be expected online.
I dare say if we had an event where we all caught up in person, it would be a blast!

I am SO happy for you.

I'm glad you shared your story, coz there will be someone out there going through the same thing and feeling scared and confused and you sharing your journey will surely help them find their true self too.

I'm planning on adding that to my personal website at some point very soon for that very reason. There's not much on it now but the domain is danniielle.com

The 456 is back too!!
I contemplated changing it to a photo of me but that 456 reel is a bit of a signature that I've used here for more than a decade now. Besides, I cut my studio engineering teeth on 456 tape!

Danni, I remember when you announced that the church folks had convinced you of the "error of your ways" and that you were returning to God's true path or whatever by going back to being Dave. I recall feeling disappointment, although you seemed happy at the time.

I'm so pleased that you're now listening to yourself instead of others and that you're finally happy "in your own skin".

Dannii

Welcome home.

As they say "its complicated".

Along the way we make many mistakes, we take many detours---we go off centre so to speak, and we let ourselves down; we let others down.

We say sorry when we don't mean it and fail to say sorry when we know we should. And yet our human foibles give us strength as we learn the true path that we must follow.

Life is a glorious journey that ends in stardust.

Enjoy the rest of the trip.

God bless you
Dannii, you are a brave person

I guess not. It's been a while since I last saw it.
In another sketch on the same album, there is a knock on the door and Chong goes "come on in ,the doors unlocked"

Don't change the 456 avatar! It's always nice seeing it in the corner At least keep it for a while. It's a great alert that you're back. You've always been an asset to the forums.

Thanks for sharing your story. Welcome back!

It has grown somewhat over the last couple of years. I'll have to post some new pics.

I reckon the 456 will have to stay. It's part of my REAPER forum identity.

Thanks too for the kind words and encouragement.

Default Welcome back. Honest, brave and inspirational.

Hey Dannii,

Not the sort of thing I usually see on the Reaper forum, but I'm touched by your honesty and courage, and I am so glad you posted this. I absolutely wish you well.
