Video freezing intermittently
Hi All.
I have an issue with a video I need to sound design. I can open REAPER and it plays back fine, but then after a few minutes, it suddenly begins to freeze up during playback every 2 or 3 seconds. This seems to have happened after switching to Windows 10, but with so many possible variables, not sure where to look. GT440 graphics card, latest drivers... Any ideas where else to look for a solution? Seems to not matter what clip I use - even if it's a common res like 1920x1080. It just holds on a single frame for about a half second every 2 or 3 seconds. Here are the video source properties: Length: 1:23.966 Video: 1920x124@30.00fps, Aspect=1.00, Decoding format=I420/YV12 Audio: 48000Hz 2ch 32bps Using VLC decoder (v3.0.x) Video: 1920x124, h264, 30.00fps Audio: 48000hz, 32bps, 2ch, mp4a Loaded from: C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC Thanks for any input. |

I think the video codec: MPEG4 is a better codec for Reaper. I converted every videos to MPEG4 before loading in Reaper.
You can conver it easily via ffmpeg, just a simple command Code:
ffmpeg "your input file" -vcodec mpeg4 "your output file" |

@Jon - the unusual screen resolution is that way because it's covering the span of several screens from left to right onstage. It was rendered so all the graphical content could be viewed on a single monitor. Thanks for the replies guys.
