Default Mouse usage

Not sure if this is the appropriate forum but has anyone else noticed a cordless mouse's battery going flat quickly?
I replaced the battery less than a month ago (and the one before that did not last that long either!) Now I think about it this change seemed to coincide with my use of Melodyne. Could there be a connection?

I use my computer almost entirely for Reaper apart from looking up a few things on the Internet.

On the computer I use for my work I think the battery lasts about a year (now I have said that it will probably conk out now as well). Any ideas please?

Buy better quality batteries? Mine typically last a month or so at the very least & I am using the mouse literally all day & evening most days.

Thanks for your reply. I don't use the mouse on my machine that much. This heavy consumption coincided with my installation of Melodyne.

On my "work" machine, which I am on all day long for my job the mouse lasts for about a year!

There's no possible way that any software plugins are going to drain your mouse battery.

Out of interest, my wireless mouse has an on/off switch and I am now in the habit of turning the mouse off when shutting the PC down. Batteries Last for many months.
