Default Bring back Dirac LE

I've used elastique for a while now thanks to the lack of dirac in the 64bit version of REAPER.

However, while it works fine in realtime unlike the hungry dirac algorithm, it just sounds bad (artifacts all over the place) when pitching more than a few semitones.

It is therefore by no means a suitable replacement, and I find myself grossed out constantly by the results elastique gives me, and I'm losing time trying to cover up its artifacts and mistakes all over the audio.

I get people don't like dirac because it cannot be used nicely in realtime, but that's why you pick it only as offline render algorithm while using elastique for the realtime check. It's simply for another purpose and it shouldn't go for such an inferior replacement.

I heard there are technical reasons for this. However, 32bit plugins were made to work in 64bit reaper too! Please find a way and make it happen, so we can have proper high quality pitching on our final exports again.

---
Alternatively, just add any other *offline* pitch algorithm alternative that actually takes its time to produce decent results.

+1 but not sure how possible it is.

However there's a workaround right now, when you do the super long render with DiracLE, open it with 32-bit Reaper (which will bridge the 64-bit plugs) and do it. I guess it depends if they are stable under the bridge or not (should be...)

Not sure what you are trying to say with that...But Dirac isn't a normal plugin like VST plugins that Reaper can bridge.

edit : OK, now rereading your reply I understand. I guess that's a possible workaround.

you can try this, extract to your reaper64 plugins/ path:

http://1014.org/shiz/diracle_host.zip

(only the dll and exe files are needed)

Is anyone noticing a serious clicking issue when using Dirac? On any audio items start or ends it's making an unusable click sound.

Thanks for posting this Justin. The Dirac is indeed slower, but the quality is really great and gives a nice alternative to the other algos.

The algo is very CPU intensive. You can however offline render it. Just execute the glue action and it will render the timestretching offline.

I have this issue. But it can be fixed by making small exponential fades at start and end of the processed item.
