Theme for small screen needed

Hello

I've some very nice themes in here.
Halas, most of them are only suitable for large screen or even very large screen (huge screen if you want to use WT Imperial).
However, I'm working mainly on my Macbook Pro 15" and I'd like to know which theme works well with smaller resolutions.

I'm currently using Apollo and Rock Solid, but it's not a perfect match for small screens.

Any suggestions ?

You might look at Default 2.0. it's my current favorite, including on a 15" laptop (a PC not a Mac). Something simple and clean should work for you.

If, like me, you're looking for a theme that has a narrow yet clear and functional TCP, Brawn Bespoke is very economical in terms of screen space. Then, ex æquo you have Reaborn 2 with its minimal 2 layout, but with ambiguous labeling. All other theme's TCP are least 5 toolbar buttons long.

Below, you can compare a sample of TCPs. Compare their width and height and their clarity. I was a long user of Grey Matter because of the size the TCP occupied. But it's slightly higher if you want the pan button showing. The matchup's methodology is by showing 2 measures only. I put imperial in there because it's the winner in least height... only.

I took a look at reaborn 2.
unfortunatly, the MCP view is super large and doesn't suit my needs.
Plus faders cannot be resized.
I have to add that I'm usually using a screen layout with the tcp on the upper part of the screen and the MCP on the lower part.
Brawn seems a bit more flexible. Testing it right now.

Still open for any suggestions.

I'm doing some changes to WT's Imperial to fit inside the screen of my macbook white.
Of course the mixer still occupies the whole screen, but at least it's usable (and nice!); depends on what you really need, but I can send you the files.

I also used lat of themes, but nothing matches to grey matter. :-)

Grey matter seems to be very real estate efficient, but does it have to be that ugly ?!
Just kidding here, it is very efficient, however, the whole greyness of the thing tends to make things more difficult to focus on. Clearly a very personal point of view here.

Have you tried the "dark" version of it? I find it much more appealing than the standard version.

Until reading this thread, I hadn't tried gray matter. Now that I have, I really like it. Not only is it good for when I'm running my laptop standalone, but I also like it when using my monitor to go dual-screen. Definitely a nice theme! Easy on the eyes and laid out logically. OK, it doesn't look like a real console, but that's a non-issue for me. The "realistic" ones look cool at first glance, but functionality is much more important for me than eye candy.

Grey Matter is really well thought-out in many aspects.

I discovered a recent theme that is space efficient (for the MCP) and very original in design. It's called "Goldielock".

You may also want to check out Focus, which was just released today. I haven't played with it much yet, but it looks like it will work nicely on a laptop screen.

I agree.
But photorealistic (or real console like) themes seem to have a bit more contrast to make some functionalities and/or buttons very easy to spot on a crowded screen while many "not realistic" themes seem to be more "relaxing" for the eyes but tend to lack focus.

I suspect this is one of those things that's perceived differently by different people. Like so many other things - high versus low contrast, lots of colors versus lots of gray, etc. - something that one person sees as perfect looks like junk to somebody else.

That's why it's so great that the Reaper community contains so many talented and generous individuals that make available such a variety of wonderful themes. Anybody that can't find something appealing to his/her personal tastes just isn't looking hard enough.
