Default [SOLVED] LV2 Buskman's Holiday Percussion plugin crashes REAPER

Is anyone else seeing this? As soon as I insert this plugin, REAPER crashes immediately with a segmentation fault.

This is a shame, as all the other X42 LV2 AVL drum kits work fine and sound great.

REAPER 7.11/Manjaro/Behringer UMC1820 Interface

Here is the terminal output (not sure what the "unable to open slave" remarks mean):

Code:
reaper  ✔

I just downloaded and installed it from the x42 page, and it's working here on Manjaro XFCE with a UMC1820. Pretty cool percussion sounds too.

Thanks Glenn. That's interesting, my install is from the manjaro repo. Will download and check the version from the x42 website to see if that makes any difference. Yeah, AVL Drums are great! Thanks again for your quick response.

I first just unarchived it and put the folder in my local LV2 folder, but it didn't pick up the new percussion kit. Then I ran the install script and REAPER picked it up. Must have a component that needs to be copied somewhere else.

Ah, that's good to know, thanks. Will report back once I've tried this...

Problem solved: It seems that I still had a residual avldrums.lv2 folder in ~/.lv2 from a previous manual install (which I mistakenly thought I had deleted before installing AVL drums again, this time from the Manjaro repo). Once I deleted the avldrums.lv2 folder from the ~/.lv2 directory, I reinstalled AVL Drums from the Manjaro repo and everything worked correctly this time - no more crashes, hurrah!

Thanks again for your helpful response, Glenn, it really helped me to track down the cause of the problem - much appreciated!

Glad you got it working, and thanks for posting about it, because I wouldn't have known about the new Holiday Percussion they've added.

Since I have Superior Drummer 2, plus a real set of mic'd acoustic drums, I'll likely never use any of the AVL drum kits, but the Holiday Percussion module I will definitely find a use for.

Thanks, and no problem. Actually, I only became aware of it myself after a Manjaro update - I ran a search for Robin Gareus which brings up the AVL drum kits (amongst other things), and at that point I noticed the new percussion kit in the list and decided to try it out.

That makes sense! 👌
